When the votes casted in actual polling offices were counted, Hoffer had a lead with ~60% of the votes casted for him.
When the postal votes (casted by mail) were counted on Monday, the suspicious swing in favor of Van der Bellen was revealed, giving him the slightest (~ 0.7%) lead in the total count, granting him victory.
Apart from mistakes (or is it mistakes?) in protocols like 146,9% of voters in one city http://wahl16.bmi.gv.at/1605-303.html
