Their country has fallen to shit due to dependency on the US, crime, and corruption, so their society has been decaying for a while and that's been hurting their national character. Mexicans that haven't fallen into the hole of basically turning into niggers are usually conservative, follow the Christian faith, viciously hate blacks, and are generally pretty based.
