I think it's safe to say there's no turning back from the way we're headed. As other people stated in this thread, you can thank the internet and social media for that. Everyone grew up with computers that could give them instant gratification. This shit carried over into real life and now everyone just does what will make them feel good the fastest.
I can't say I'm not guilty of this. I do drugs of all kinds, I drink, I love one-night stands, I play vidya, and spend a huge amount of time on social media. So technically I'm part of the problem. But I at least desire to go back to time that were much simpler. Much less ... Degenerate, even if it means I wouldn't have as much "fun".

I noticed that too. There's all that meat, but everyone looks so thin. Of course, it wasn't until the 1970s that a heavily bread, pasta and grain based diet was pushed while animal fat was demonized. And only then did we get fat.
I have relatives who own small farms where they still live pretty much like they did 60-70 years ago. They cook everything in lard, eat tons of meat and dairy and eat all parts of the animals except the bones, and while I don't know what their cholesterol is like, they're not fat.

I don't think you had to do any of those things. The "fetish" for the 1950s has more to do with the fact that family, home, job and pride in those things were something you could work for and devote yourself to and it was something that commanded respect. Today, it is still expected on some level (you may even take heat for not wanting to take care of another man's kids) but something that no matter what, you will be spat on for and maybe eaten alive (with taxes at least, alimony and child support at worst) while society holds up the bitter mentally ill lesbian, the criminal nigger and the single mom with 5 kids by as many fathers as its heroes.
