Stealth ships/airplanes are meant to make waves bounce off of it in a certain direction so radar doesn't detect it.

Doubt it's refugees. They're not exactly being sneaky about flooding their country with them

The Skjold-class is literally the fasted combat ship in the world. If it gets in a tight spot it can just run away at over 60 knots (which is damn fast). It is also much more heavily armed than you can tell from the picture. The boat has an internal weapons bay that holds 8 long-range missiles.
>>
>>74820926
are you fucking stupid? that ship can be seen from 20 miles away? This is the dumbest stealth technology I have ever seen?

The problem with submarines is that they're always underwater so there aren't as many cool pics of them.

Stealth doesn't function like in the movies all it does is reduce the effective range at which they can be detected.

Instead of being able to track the ship at 200 miles you might only be able to do it at 150.

Technically he's right now. Gray is the best color for stealth because you can't see it very well day or night. Black is okay during the night but it sticks out like a sore thumb during the day.

Stealth technology isn't supposed to make the vehicle invisible to naked eye, it's supposed to make it undetectable by radars.
>>
>>74820799
Ya i was always curious. Why the fuck someone would spent bilions for "stealth ship" if he can build a submarine for 1/10 of cost? and still have more "stealth" ?

it is supposed to minimize/disperce the reflected signal going back to the reciever. it doesn't work when the reciever isn't located at the same spot as the emitter. and it applies tremendeous handicaps to the weapon as you can't use radar yourself, can't have speed, armor and load as well, and the cost...
>>
>>74821371
You need to actually develop a technology.
Zumwalt cost

$22.5 billion program cost
$3.96B/unit

While brand new (newest) submarine cost 2B per unit. And you have "more stealthy" shit that has better capabilities.
Unless it is dick waving contest then ship is more fabulous ofcourse.
>>
>>74821043
Notice that this submarine has a flagstaff. Under the rules of naval warfare any ship that attacks (not defends itself) another ship, including during wartime without flying a registered flag is guilty of a war crime.

This includes submerged submarines.
>>
>>74820182
Light is radiation too.
>>
>>74821633

Also, part of having a navy is just having a visible presence that you can use to intimidate potential enemies. Submarines are very useful but they suck at intimidation because, well, you can't fucking see them.
>>
>>74821580
You know satellites can't just hover wherever you want them right? Also cuckden probably doesn't even have any fucking military satellites they'd have to trust an outside source.

>>

and by the way. Countries like Russia, China and USA are tracking opponents ships all day. You really think that when they spot that one ship in base is missing they are like

Zumwalt is just another corrupt project, like f-35. They have never meant to be good.
Just repeat "gibe monei to muh armi projeects" until gov realise that all of that is bullshit.
>>
>>74822027
Yeah but it can only hover over one spot and it has to be very high up.

Even for russia it's unlikely they have access to satellite surveillance for any given area at any given time. It would be on a timetable, it's not something you can use all the time everywhere.

>>74821757

Meh, that has more to do with the Zumwalt being the most advanced destroyer ever made than anything else. The stealth is probably the least expensive part of the ship actually. It doesn't really cost anything to shape it that way. The new systems developed for the Zumwalt in terms of energy systems, sonar, radar, targeting, computer systems, damage control systems, etc are what makes it expensive. And even then, it really isn't THAT expensive. For a ship of its size, it isn't out of proportion.

>>
>>74822200
I'm aware of that. But USA is like
USA USA USA USA!!
it doesn't fuckin matter for them.

>>74822270
Yes, and it can be taken down by literally 1 30 year old nuclear powered submarine that's base is in Vladivostok and cost 1/10 of that Zumwalt. Did I mention that submarine after leaving a port and going down 200-300m is almost untrackable and can do anything it wish to?

If all of that technology would be put in submarine it would be way fuckin better. But nope, let's make a dick contest and produce next crap that has shitload of brand new technology but the ship itself will be fuckin useless vs real opponent.
>>

You could just as easily argue that soldiers are useless because they can be killed by bullets which cost less than a dollar, whereas it takes far more than 1 dollar to train and equip a competent soldier.

Submarines can't apprehend pirates or smugglers in the same way as ships. They're only good for outright sinking enemy ships, gathering intelligence, or launching nukes. With a stealth ship like this, you'd be able to detect and sink submarines without them ever detecting you. You're also not trapped in a steel tube for your entire patrol which boosts morale and makes refueling and resupplying easier.
