First of all, nationalism is not about hating anyone.
Second, whole europe will turn again to nationalism someday, its inevitable, because its the logical consequence of the geopolitic and economic situation.
Third, I dont know if you have been in the wester countries, but you cant find anywhere the levels of nationalism you find in the east (Poland, Rusia,Belarus, Hungary, Serbia, Romania, anywhere in the east really)
I dont know a lot about the baltic countries but the probably have more nationalism too.
Even in Germany, the eastern part is the most nationalistic one.
When you look at the current situation, you often wish the soviet union marched all the way down to Spain, because today we would have another type of "european union", probably including the slavic world.
