Pretty accurate. I was Army EOD and on one of my 15-month deployments to Afghanistan I met an Air Force EOD guy from school on the way in, at Bagram. I met him again on my way out...the AF guy had done six months, gone home for six months about, and was coming back before I had even completed my first. And we were fragmented out in the middle of nowhere while the AF guys sat back in the Xbox hueg bases which were cities.

But then in-between deployments there isn't necessarily anything for them to do. Also the soldiers are contracted for a certain number of years. Well during school, for me A school and C school to become an ET, you do basic, but then schooling you do like 10 hour days of PT school and everything, and you sometimes have to go in to study extra because it's all computer based training you have to be on schedule for each module.
Nuke school is the same, but harder. Has a much higher drop out rate, and failure rate, and then you MAY get a new rate, like ET, or they can just fuck you over and be a loser with no rate.
You have to have 85+ on asvab for ET FC rates maybe STG also and IT, not sure, I qual'd for nuke, but didn't take the bait.
