Daeny's stupidity in the novel is at least understandable because she's only 13 years old. If you were 13, then suddenly had the sole access to three of the most dangerous living weapons on the planet, doubtless you'd act stupid too. Also, your father was mentally ill and your brother physically abused you.
The show however, it is an adult woman with absurd run-away eyebrows that cannot act, with awful stronk womyn dialogue shoe-horned in that isn't in the book. Any sympathy one might have had for the character melts away completely by season 2.
