I thought that I was Scottish, French and Scandinavian, with a smattering of other European genes thrown in for good measure. Then my parents did the whole DNA test to see what their background really was. It turns out that, pretty much everywhere in Europe that my ancestors came from had previously been on the receiving end of Viking invasions, or was outright Viking.
