Under the current fractional reserve banking system which fuels the Global Economy, banks can create money out of "thin air". This technically means that it is mathematically impossible to ever pay back debt that has been serviced. But why? It is because this thing called "compound interest" which we take granted for is essentially charged (or received) by borrowing other people’s money which is deposited into the fractional reserve system - essentially one gigantic glorified Ponzi scheme. That annual interest you get in your savings account? The Bank “reward” you with someone else’s money. That 35% return you get on selling a profitable stock? The company “rewards” you with other shareholder’s money who have pumped in their money aswell. A bank giving you a mortgage or student loan? They loan you money they create out of thin air and they get literally risk free profit by binding you to a signed contract to pay up with interest… or else. It’s all just a gigantic debt turd pile that gets bigger and bigger (I'm sure you've all seen the numbers of how most "advanced" developed countries have debt several hundred % of their GDP). So what’s preventing this system from going to complete shit? Just one word: Confidence. If confidence of the fractional reserve banking system to service debts and pay shareholders ever drops, that’s it. GAME OVER.
