I'd recommend "Hitler's War" before "Rise and Fall of the Third Reich". Don't get me wrong, "Rise and Fall" is a good book and tries very hard to be objective, but it's based on many Nuremberg documents, which were purged of anything that showed the good intentions of the NSDAP to see as many men hanged as possible. "Hitler's War" doesn't suffer from this unfortunate flaw, and is based only on objective primary documents.
