yeah, writing chemo regimens, adjusting them and such. Meaningless. Just had a women who graduated from college find out she's in remission from stage 3 pancreatic. She though she'd have 4-6 months to live, back in october. Made it to may graduation, and now she's clear. Next scans in 6 weeks. Pancreatic is the worst of the worst, and it has a 99% chance of coming back, and it'll come back hard, but she got to graduate. I wrote every order, and personally mixed every chemo she got with my own two hands. I ordered the drugs, mixed them, and administered them. We've had some die, for sure, but we've also saved many. It's a great feeling to see people come in, eyes wide, scared to death as they start a 6 month regimen, and then say goodbye to them on their last dose when they find out they beat it.
It's a small, 14 employee clinic in a mid sized city, so this allows me to have personal relationships with the patients. They stay here for 3-4 hours while it's infused, and I talk to them, show them pictures of my child. Several patients got gifts for my baby who was born in Jan of this year.
I love my job and wouldn't trade it for anything. I have the financial security that my wife can stay at home with my son, and my hours give me ample time with my family as well.

By law, every long term medicare patient has to have their 'chart reviewed' by a pharmacist. There are several small towns with nursing homes of 15-40 people, that have no pharmacist on site, they're too small. So they contract it out. one saturday a month, I review charts all day for 3 nursing homes to meet the standards for them, and provide the service as well. I get paid 35 dollars a chart, and I typically do a chart every 15 minutes. Good stuff. It's mundane, but I still take it serious. Education and literacy. He said that this changed their potential more then anything else, and that it can be so powerful that the benefits are far greater then the tragedy brought by guns and wars (and then he went off about Muslims for about 10 minutes).
Also he hates western aid. He hates how the western media shows Africa's poor and does not show anything else, and that the problems that they have will not be solved by delaying to actually fix them.
I don't know if he was blowing smoke up my ass or not, but he's pretty interesting to talk to.
Also him and his friends mostly all wear suits when not at work. I've actually sat in a living room full of blacks in suits discussing nuanced geopolitics and economic theory.

I think there's a certain certification you can get to deliver meds. We used a delivery service for our home shut ins. I'm not 100% sure what they had to do, but with the amt of paperwork we have to do to get drugs in, sell them and log it, I'm 100% sure there's SOMETHING you have to do.
But that's not a big moneymaker, you'd only offer delivery to obtain new business, not to make money on the actual delivery.
I bet he can set up a MTM program though. WAG did this when I was tehre, we were REQUIRED to do them. I go to a university in North Philadelphia. North Philly, for those who don't know, is an old industrial sector which has been devastated by economic downturn. It's the only place where the United States Government has indiscriminately bombed its civilians. Think a nicer, East Coast Detroit.
Anyways, I come from a town where there are not many black people. My community is racially homogenous, and it's awesome. There's never any strife. There were a few black people, and I was friends with a lot of them, but it was overwhelmingly white and Indian.
Now, seeing as how I had never been exposed to true African Americans, I got to Philadelphia expecting that I would be shown what I was told was a rich culture and a good community.
