At what age were you freed from Christian brainwashing?
What do you believe now?
Do you think Christianity should be outlawed?
>>

I was never baptised, I was raised with common sense.

In the current modern world of degeneracy traditional christianity would do more good than harm and probably keep the refugees out

What we REALLY need is a good, new pseudo-religion without a god but heavy emphasis on traditional virtues and a sense of unity amongst one's kind
>>
Was never indoctrinated. No one has ever tried to force Christianity on me, I've never been to the church, I've never read the bible.
This is how it should be. Let us think for ourselves.
My parents are (probably) atheists and they hate niggers, and fags. They're not like American atheists who shove bananas up their asses and whine about being white.

Never felt any real connection to it; even as a child, I knew that "praying" was just thinking to yourself. There was nothing listening to your thoughts.

Finally took a hard look at it around age 14 and realized religion was a huge pile of unsubstantiated, superstitious horseshit.

I think Christians should be looked down upon as ignorant and uneducated.

I think Islam should be outlawed and all Muslims deported.

Virtues/Sin are completely arbitrary and relativistic concepts, and God was merely used and is used to justify their objectivity by granting them a superior, divine source.

How difficult is this to grasp?

You could argue that some seemingly objective virtues exist, akin to diligence to grant an example, but even then, you must understand that the general masses aren't bent on living the life devoted to virtue.

Somewhat this.
Once you really delve into the realm of the subjective and realize by default reality can't exist without a conscious observer, it becomes hard to take materialistic/atheism seriously. At the same time its always easy to see how bullshit organized religion be
>>
>>74066041
This is true, I think there is a definitely a divorce and these countries are following the mythology more than the values

Plus they're all non-white so they're going to be worse by default.

I still think that a stronger religious focus would at least improve the white west compared to our current secular morality and state worship. I agree that Christianity isn't the complete solution. Especially now what it's become.
>>
>>74065192
There are no reasons to consider anything a virtue, you retard. That is how atheism has killed the world, by removing any source of authority, good and evil.
>>
>>74065136
Except no given that atheists in France, Germany, Scandinavia etc are almost invariably Leftist and many in Eastern Europe align with neo-Communist movements.

Atheism is a Jewish Marxist ideal. You do realise this? The USSR wasn't the world's first explicitly atheist country for nothing after all.
>>

Traditionalist reformation of the church is necessary. It has become weak and feminised after the counter culture revolution of the 60's. Fucking boomers literally ruined the west economically and culturally.
>>
>>74064367
Why do you blame Christianity for shitty parenting you received?
>>
Probably about 17. Grew up Catholic. I never enjoyed being forced to go to church sometimes 3-4 times a week plus Wednesday night bible teachings or an additional Sunday night bible study. I finally told my parents I didn't want to do it anymore and since I was leaving to go to college, I wasn't going to church. I feel like I had little childhood because I was always at church.

I don't believe it should be outlawed, but I believe religion is a choice and one should be given the freedom to practice or not practice it.
>>
>>74064367
Dad's and atheist, mom's a hippy that was raised Catholic, still believes it but left it up to us to choose whether to believe. I was baptized by my grandma in her kitchen sink as a baby, but aside from that, very little to no pressure from my family.

I ended up being a Christian and believing in God for a number of reasons. First because all of the friends that I still have today are faithful, it was always the atheists/agnostics that would stop talking or hanging out with people, especially if you were practicing or considering being faithful.

Second, after getting my degree in physics, I have realized that a lot of things just can't be explained. Many professors would have you accept certain things as fact without anything to back it up, like dark matter. An overwhelming majority of the mass in the universe is unaccounted for, so what do astronomers say? "It's all made up of something we cannot see, measure, or observe in any way, but we know it's there." There's a quote from Heisenberg that goes something like "The first sip from the glass of science will turn you into an atheist, but at the bottom God is waiting." Most atheists like to act like they are so smart because they took and introductory philosophy or physics course and use the whole "hurry I only believe in things I can observe, like science cuz I'm so much more intellectual than you." Bullshit, if you bring up things like dark matter and quantum mechanics they stumble and make up some stupid explanation that doesnt make sense.

Which leads to point 3, atheists are a bunch of hypocrites. The majority (except those that I've seen on /pol/) are big supporters of any religion as long as it isn't Christianity. Seriously, ask any real life atheist you know how they feel about Christianity, and they'll give you a speech about how it's destroying our world and needs to be stopped. Ask them about Islam afterwards and their tone and demeanor completely changes, and they quickly say that we need to respect other cultures and religions, and only evil Christians destroy the world. They should be anti-Christians rather than atheists. At least Christianity has secularized to the point that it's compatible with western cultures, Islam is going to have a hard time doing that, and I personally think it's impossible. The newer breed of Christians have even accepted evolution as a part of reality, and many integrate it into the creationism idea (God kickstarted evolution, and took his hands off the wheel to see what happens), Genesis can be read to support that idea as well. It's mostly the elderly that keep tring to force their religion into the law, and most of the younger generation is sick of it and can't wait for them to die off.

I guess the biggest point is my last one, which is that my wife finally got pregnant and we are looking for the best way to raise our family. I'm not into the idea that you need to go to a building every Sunday to prove you're a good Christian, but just helping out at a church when you can is a great way to get your kids into youth groups so they can learn how to socialize, and get a good moral foundation. I did that through a good friend of mine and I think it's turned out for the best. It was a process for me, and a personal choice.
>>
>>74066965

i agree with this anon

and congrats on your new child. you're going to enjoy that, trust me
>>
I was baptized as a babby. Ever since childhood, I didn't really feel that much about any religion. I prayed, yeah, but only because that was what I was taught and we have required old testaments and new testaments bible teachings in many schools here in the Philippines. Making confessions also didn't click with me and other religious activities as well. It's just not my thing. I also have stinking personality and I feel like such a plastic while singing bible songs about praises and holding hands with neighbors saying "bless you" even though I know neighbor X raped neighbor Y, neighbor A cheats on her husband, etc. It's so funny. That being said, I like that many religious people are nice and behaved (sans muslims and the other crazy obsessed ones) and so I try to integrate by also replicating niceness. I don't think Christianity should be outlawed.

I beleived, prayed to dead family members at night, and had a strong sense of god & heaven. Then at 9 or 10 when I turned into an edgy lilkid I started questioning everything but had no answers. I only brought up atheism to see if someone could give me an answer or prove me wrong but deep down I beleived.

Then around 20 I started putting extreme amounts of thought and research into the occult and science and maybe a dash of schizo and I had a realization and came back.

I meant for their ideas, religion should never be a reason for making any sort of laws. Those people will never have their minds changed either, they are set in their ways, it's partly their fault that we have no particle accelerator in Texas, the thing has been dug out for years and it keeps getting stalled. I'm pretty sure the original reason was because they were scared ot would open a portal to hell. Tons of jobs and opportunities for scentific advancement gone because some old people take the bible too literally.

I was born in a strict catholic family, we went through all the rituals, communion etc buy that's all they where to me. Sermons made me sleep or most of the time I would just want the birds flying around in the ceiling of the cathedral and the statues and idols really just freaked me the f out.
When I came here to Australia my mother introduced me to some mormon missionaries whom shes said healed my brother's high fever by prayer and laying their hands on the top of his head and I was like yeah whatevs. Well to cut a long story short I went through the discussions with them and got baptised first by water and then by fire, the reception of the Holy Ghost. Two of the most awe inspiring and miraculous moments of my life. So basically there is nothing anyone can do or say that can convince me God isn't real. If you pray to him and allow him to enter your heart through the power of Holy Ghost there is nothing he wouldn't for you. And I mean this literally. and its not instantaneous and not always the way you imagined but he has answered ALL of my prayers and questions in one form of another. Through him you will unlock more knowledge about the universe that you can read in all the books of this world.
I leave these things with you in Jesus's name.
Amen

So why not give it a try anon? What are you afraid? That he might actually exist? Then you would have to account for yourself and everythign you have done, thought and said woudlnt you.. we all do, I'm no angel.. Im here aren't I? Wife never mentions what she believes in.
>>
>>74068687
No. Pantheism is believing that the cosmos/universe itself is equatable with God. The logic being in mythology god is giving credibility with manifesting creation. On the same note, all life is birthed and sustained by the universe of which we are intricately apart of and unable to exist without. Therefore, reality itself is 'god'

my parents didnt take me to church. at 1 point when i was in elementary school they signed me up for sunday school and this bus would come by.

i didnt know what was going on the first day but sitting in a room with other kids listening to stupid shit when i could be playing video games wasnt acceptable

so i would wake up early on sunday after that and hide under the house until the bus left. they would honk a few times and my parents would come out and say they cant find me but they know im around some where

after 4th time they stopped coming
>>
My family tried but as a kid I never believed in it. Mostly because church was boring, and my dad always gave me science books. Around 8.

Sunday school teachers got pissed when I asked questions. I read the bible a bit when I went to Hs because mom kept guilting me into it. Bad idea since by that time it all seemed like nonsense, and every religious teacher had a different interpretation.

Tried actually praying when I was 19 and my gramps had cancer. Still died. I shrugged and continued with my life.

I think all theistic religions are wrong, in that there needs to be a god. But the moral lessons are sometimes ok.

>is 40 years old and still says edgy stuff like Easter is stupid because we're celebrating the day Jesus was bleeding like he had his period

>tells me when I'm a kid it's okay to do cocaine and go clubbing and she wants me to have six with a gay nigger and marry him when I grow up
>likes Islam for some reason says they're really peaceful
>desperate to move to California

I was always wary of Christianity, even as a little kid. Something seemed off and I was at playmates from Christian families I never felt at ease. The athmosphere was too tense.
Dad was some sort of vaguely traditional Swedish Lutheran (he was conservative) and mom was more left wing but some sort of north German Lutheran. Neither were active church goers and when me and my siblings asked religious questions such as if there was a god etc, both mom and dad would usually just repoly that we would have to decide that for ourselves when we were grown-ups but also said that the bible, nonetheless was culturally important and a fairly good read.

Religion, although extremely interesting to study and read about, never ever made much sense to me and thus I never became religious in any sense.

Should Christianity be outlawed?
That would probably not do much good, but I do agree with the idea of a strict separation of church and state.

Finland you fucking idiot.

Any moral system devoid of God will be turned into a tool of degeneracy almost overnight. Have you noticed that the most "secular" societies are the ones overrun with degeneracy the most easily? And it's those with the "moral high ground" doing it, since their morality is purely made up to fit their purposes.

This is what is happening in the US, and has already destroyed many other European nations.

My parents didn't teach me religion, however I became interested in philosophy and mysticism in my late teens which led me to the Catholic faith (the /christian/ generals on here were a huge help). I'm planning on joining a Trappist monastery now

As a repressed tranny. I took great comfort in God. I begged for the strength to resist the urge to transition. I was raised an atheist. But I refused to accept that it was natural for a man to want to become a woman. I knew it was wrong as young as 5 years old. Therapy didn't work. Nothing did.

But then I BELIEVED

And he answered me. A broken boy who wanted to cut his dick off became a man. Every time I lift those weights. I know he's helping me. Keeping the disease at bay. He made me strong

My 5 year old daughter doesn't really know who Jesus is.

She knows about Jews. She knows an apocolyptic Jewish cult infiltrated Rome and infiltrated the Army of Europe a long time ago, which lead to the demonification of the Gods of our ancestors.

She's heard people talk about Jesus, and knows Jesus has to do with the aforementioned Jewish Apocolypse cult.

She's not Christian though. She can be if she wants to be, but I don't recommend it.

I was 20 or 21 when I left that cult. I believe that around puberty, the brain starts to develop complex emotional abstractions before it develops rational thought, and religious visions and "confirmations" happen around this time because of that.

Shouldn't be outlawed because its a free country, even if its disgusting and immoral. It shouldn't be in our government and I wish it wasn't forced on kids...

>>74079693

>>
>>74079443
>how the fuck can they be the same?

their only difference is that in one case you believe 100% and in the second case you aren't 100% sure.

and again, in science there is no such thing as "I know something 100%", not just about this but about any field. So it would be a scientific fallacy to believe something 100% regardless of the subject.

Distinction between agnosticism and atheism is only found in people that assume pure 100% truth is achievable, usually idealistic non-scientists
>>
>>74077818

I was pretty old, about like 14. I had to read the whole bible the year before to sort of justify it to myself. Like I had to make sure I wasn't just missing something that made it all okay.
I think Christianity is really twisted and not needed for me, but I'm okay with others doing it because they generally aren't prone to terrorism and fucking up my life substantially.
I have this weird sort of idea that morality is an evolutionary trait that to make humans stronger by giving instincts on how to live as a society. Basically morals help humans thrive. So my "religion" is trying to ensure survival of humanity. It's pretty fun because it means I both want to contribute to tech development & have a bunch of kids. It's pretty meaningful to me and more realistic & doesn't have blanket rules that are always true except when they aren't and it encourages you to live life fully and well.

So you let a Bible story (which may be allegorical) turn you away from actually trying to discover if God is real or not? I'm curious how much thinking about whether or not God exists atheists even do because from most all the ones I've talked to, they just made their mind up when they were like 14 or so and have never really questioned it again.
>>
>>74066965
As an atheist myself, I do not inherently see atheists as being in any way better than any religion. The thing is, you don't have to believe in God to be an idiot. Many atheists are so fucking elitist and think they are better than all religious people, and then they go off and start cults like Athiesm+ and shit.

My worldview pretty much simple states that the bad in the world is created by stupid people. You can be taught to be stupid, like Islamists, or you can just be a piece of trash like people who smoke and litter. people often make bad decisions, and often times are too ignorant to admit they are wrong and correct themselves. This is what is wrong with the world. Stupid people. And stupidity does not discriminate.

This is a much more rational form of atheism than I normally encounter if my atheist friends or I ever talk about the possibility of God existing. Stupidity definitely does not discriminate and I don't think their belief in God changes how intelligent that person is at all. Thanks for sharing your viewpoint bro.

1. Around the age of 17 or 18. But really it started when I was 6.

2. Mostly that it doesn't matter what I believe, because when you are dead you're probably just dead. I believe that morals can be informed by reason through examining the subjective concepts of "suffering caused" versus "suffering relieved".

3. No religion should be outlawed, but religion-based arguments should not be used to make laws.

I have a friend that was raised an atheist and literally never encountered a single religious beleif until he was in his late teenage years, with the exception of some classes on mythology (ie if you asked him what God Christians worship he couldn't tell you).

So here was someone who was completely unbiased. He had never heard anything for or against Christianity. But when he did actually learn about it within less than 10 seconds of the person explaining he had already lost stopped listening. He said he thought the person was mentally ill for believing this and said something along this line "It would be nice if magic existed but it doesn't. People that want magic to be real will just believe it anyway, like how people believe in horoscopes." Another time he compared praying to God to a story he read about a girl that said she was having astral-sex with Sepheroth from final fantasy 7.

I was a little sympathetic to religious people despite being an atheist myself and said that's a ridiculous comparison. He than said "You can't prove she did not have sex with Sepheroth. I cannot prove God is not really talking to people or did everything in the bible." Now I sort of agree with him.
