Not really. The CSA was pretty much unbeatable but their war goals were unattainable. They tried to fight a war of attrition and then get foreign aide to put an end to the fighting, but nobody would come help them because they couldn't make gains in the North. Fighting a war of attrition was a bad idea because, while the South had superior soldiers and officers, the North had factories, a larger population and more ports. The CSA needed to make the Union bleed enough to make them stop fighting (and it almost worked), but the Union only needed time to eventually blockade all of the CSA and out produce them.
