Farmers, duh.

US government subsidizes corn farmers.
Real sugar requires a particular climate not that prevalent in the US.
Corn can be grown fucking everywhere.

The farms being efficient is why they're subsidized. There's too much corn for it to be worth anything.

You won't be so angry about it in the event of global meltdown.

Corn Refiners Association

HFCS is now (as most recently) called fructose-gloucose syrup.

If it is benign as they claim, then why change the name?

Why the propaganda?
>>
Big agra. They will manipulate scientific experiments and distribute propaganda to hide the fact that GMOs cause cancer and HFCS is essentially sugar on steroids that is a major reason Americans are fat and unhealthy. They have revolving doors with regulatory agencies and legislatures, and will lobby for heavy subsidies to ensure that most of our farmland and supermarket shelves are filled with nutrient poor adulterated poison, then their friends in Big Pharma will use the same tactics to force doctors to give you drugs for your health problems caused by eating conventional American food, but they don't actually fix anything, just treat simptoms while giving you many more illnesses so that the hospitals, insurance and drug companies can have a circlejerk and fatten their pockets at the expense of your slow and miserable death.

>>
>>73775450

Government imposed tarifs on sugar.

Government interference again? You don't say.
>>
>>73776062
Corn is subsidized because the American government doesn't want to let economics take its natural course.

The farms should be left to fail so that other crops might take their place, of course no politician would allow that to happen.

And that is why corn is subsidized, because politicians want farming community votes.

when nothing is happening, meaning 99% of the time, we have to endure the tin-foil crowd, the religious nuts, the "white" morons, etc.

I really don't see a solution to this situation, unless we want to discuss the possibility that natalya has a fairly ugly stand-in.

either that or she is a fucking wizard with makeup who is lazy sometimes.

B: Monsanto shills GMO so they can own fucking everything and make lewd profits

That's why the EU stopped subsidizing specific crops, but subsidizes land area instead.

And why your Queen is the biggest earner of EU farming subsidies.
>>
>>73776413
>in mouse studies GMOs shown to cause cancer over a long duration of exposure

yeah. one of those studies where they fed a mouse 1000x what any person could ever consume, on a lb-per-lb basis. you can do a mouse study that proves that breathing air causes cancer. look at any product being sold today. "this product has been found by the state of california to cause cancer".

how do people exist in california, since every damn thing causes cancer?
>>
>>73776318
It's essentially welfarw for the state of Iowa bc all the do is gtow gmo corn
>>
>>73776406
>Plants with built-in pesticides

It's not build in.
The crops still need to be sprayed.

They just make the crops more resistant to those pesticides, so they can spray more.
It's this over-use of pesticides that's a health risk, and bad for the environment including bees.

This, because of tariffs on cane sugar. And that's the only reason, though you can feel free to go tin foil hat on what gmo corn syrup will do to us.

You can make sugar out of beets, that plant grows everywhere, too.

Before the 1930, farmers would leave their fields bare between seasons. In the 1930's a drought swept across the United States. Long post made short, the "Dust Bowl" happened. Part of the fix was growing corn. Part of keeping it from coming back, is growing corn.

In some places, yeah, crop rotation. They also grow in rows that consider hillsides. They also get paved roads. They also grow things like grasses (corn) that improve soil quality instead of diminishing it.

what are other names for HFCS?
Already heard of australia's "Glucose-Fructose Syrup", anyone else?
would love to hear it all now so i can continue to avoid it.
Already been off ALL HFCS products for nearly 4 years now.
>>
>>73781074
Pretty much every fruit juice you ever drank, has been mostly fructose, because most fruit are made mostly of fructose. Your body will turn fructose into glucose, it's really more a matter of quantity and calorie count.
