Ready for the Trump who's pro gun control, abortion, and gay rights?

I really hope no one's surprised by this 'unforeseeable' turn of events.

Bernie bro here, just along for popcorn.gif at this point

You're shilling is really weak

Not to be a Trump apologist, but that looks to be consistency rather than a reversal. I can't say I'm all that hot on anybody's tax plan, but it's not as though we're electing a dictator anyway.

I still like Cruz's flat tax rate idea more.

Bernietards obsession with Trump makes no sense

all their effort is going towards someone that Bernie isn't currently running against
>>
>>73402063

The point is that Trump doesn't give a shit about you, what you want, what's good for you, or anything beyond the man's 58-story ego.

For instance, if he gave a shit, he'd check his facts:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/few-stand-in-trumps-way-as-he-piles-up-the-four-pinocchio-whoppers/2016/05/07/8cf5e16a-12ff-11e6-8967-7ac733c56f12_story.html?tid=pm_pop_b

... but since he gives 0 shits, he says whatever will get your vote. It doesn't matter that if he's elected, his policies and promises won't make sense or be practicable. He knows you can't read / won't fact-check him anyway.
>>
>>73402130
Considering that the income tax doesn't pay for anything, getting rid of the IRS is the obvious thing to do. It's just that you're lucky to not get executed in broad daylight if you go around talking smack about the banking cartel.

It's all well and good for the executive to signal that he might not suck banker cock every single morning, but really it's the job of Congress to do something about the problem.

He hasn't budged an inch on immigration. Usually that's the first thing Republicans drop. It's stupid to raise taxes when the government doesn't need more revenue when there is plenty to cut. But the left wants stupid shit and I can live with a bit of a raise in taxes as long as he builds a wall and deports the illegals.
>>73401763
I support a flat tax. Not because it's fair but because the poor need to understand what the free shit they vote for costs. The poor don't pay any income taxes. With ta flat tax they'll pay and when they want to vote themselves free shit it'll be easy to demonstrate instantly exactly how much they'll pay more in taxes when the policy gets implemented.
>>
>>73402772
Bernie's doing better than people (including myself) expected. I think it's still useful to get as much leverage out of that as is possible. He's no antichrist, as far as I know.

It was a long, hard, road to get Trump into the position he is now, and this game isn't over until it's over. Surrender is not an option if you want to win the fight.

Cruz's plan was not regressive, it was based on a flat rate unlike our current bracketed system, but it still scaled progressively. It's simple, fair, and easily modifiable. I've been advocating the exact same thing for years and I'm surprised it's taken a politician this long propose it.

Maybe. But with Trump, who knows? He only appears to care for himself. Past performance is the best indicator of future performance. Bernie's solid in this area.

In Trump's case, past performance indicates you're getting cucked hard, in a straightforward economic interpretation of the metaphor.

>>
>>73404443

> then why do you think that cutting spending is good?

I'm not sure whose tail you're chasing. Anyway, defense spending cuts mean more money in my pocket, and more of the existing budget to repurpose for e.g. infrastructure spending.

For instance, the DC metro is forced to shut down for maintenance while the MASSIVE defense contractor industry suckles hard on the government teat. Disgraceful.
>>
>>73404116
>This Cruz denial is ridiculous. All a flat tax does is shift...
It's not a strict flat tax, though. The threshold for taxable income makes it progressive and shifts the burden off lower income earners.

>10% flat rate; threshold of $36,000
>make $36,000 pay $0 in income tax; 0% of income
>make $60,000 pay $2,400 in income tax; 4% of income
>make $200,000 pay $16,400 in income tax; 8.2% of income
>make $5,000,000 pay $496,400 in income tax; 9.9% of income

progressive

As with anything, if you want to find them then you have to go search them out. RT is largely a psychological operation, and they're doing about as good a job as you would expect Russia to be doing without totally discrediting itself.

And I agree with your analysis about Trump's past performance. It took me quite some time to come around to thinking I'd be willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, and I'm basically in a holding pattern for now waiting to see if something will come up to convince me that I was wrong or that there is a better alternative come November. Frankly, I don't find Bernie's past performance to be inspiring, but I'd take the time to revisit that conclusion if he were to get through the primaries.

Why is this a bad thing?

Under his current tax cut plan trump would increase the deficit by over 10trillion dollars, even more than obongo.

And the bulk of that is coming from his huge rate slash on top earners, not the fact that people under 50k wil pay no federal income tax.

He understands the arithmetic, you can just slash the rate from 39 to 20 on top earners and expect to balance the budget in any world.

A flat tax has an unequal burden and Cruz's proposed rate of 10% is too drastic a change from what we currently have.

My own plan for when I become a politician is to have 7 tax brackets, which follow as
>below x, the average income per person for the year - 0%
>x - 2x - 10%
>2x - 4x - 13%
>4x - 8x - 16%
>8x - 16x - 19%
>16x - 32x - 22%
>32x+ - 25%
This, along with a law that forbids income taxes above 25% and a complete removal of all tax breaks and loopholes seems like the best approach to me but I'd appreciate feedback

One of the things I think the Tax Wall St. party has right is the tax plan. The financial system plays arbitrage at a level that makes Trump look like a little kid. Regulation is a nice idea, but disincentivizing it is even better. And then, by that means, the profiteers of the financial collapse get to help pay for the problems they've caused rather than just the dupes.

>Politifact

Lurk more, that site has been debunked more times than one of these threads has been made in the past 10 months
>>
>>73407797
That is practically what it already is.

People don't seem to realise that Tax cuts even if only on middle and lower rates also function as tax cuts for the rich. To offset that so you end up at least keeping effective tax rate on the rich the same whilst cutting it for bottom and middle you have to increase top rates.

If you want to tackle inequality you would have better luck having higher rates well above 50% as rates that high was the only time inequality fell except in recession. Need to change things more than simply window dressing.

>>
>>73407633
It's flat in that it uses a single base rate i.e. not brackets. And you're not putting people into brackets. There are no brackets. It works on a gradient. Reporting is simple: "I made this much, so take $36,000 from that and what's left is my taxable income, so here's a check for 10% of that" or however collection is enforced. You'd still need some kind of agency to deal with it, but it could be much smaller and more streamlined with a vastly simplified tax code.

His economic policy in terms of trade (way bigger deal than taxes; it's literally about sustaining the nation-state) is top of the pack. His foreign policy stance, while maybe not highly developed as yet, is pretty spot on in terms of intentions.

And these are really not two different things. Politics, finance, and economy are all just slightly different ways of looking at the same thing. I'd be a little bit more worried about Trump's psychological character if anything, but it seems as though he's got a pretty good grip on when to play CEO and when to delegate.

So the author of the first article is this man, definitely a trustworthy source of information. In the article he makes so many assumptions and contradictions I'mm not even going to start, just read it again with your own bias put aside if you can and you'll see how retarded it is.

The second is a link that looks like an article but is to the quote of a crypto-Liberal 'republican' who's spent his entire life trying to make right wing voters look like cunts and with it he explains his reasoning, well, not at all.

The ol' double-post, double-reverse false flag! Classic.

>>73411607

Here is an example of what I actually believe on the matter:

"Recently, conservatives have developed the bad habit of accepting the premises of any questions liberals throw their way, and then just taking the opposite side. This puts them on the side opposite the evidence in a lot of cases.

For instance. Liberals believe that we need to take decisive government action on climate change because it is a serious, proven phenomenon that will have (and has already had) disastrous consequences.

Conservatives believe that taking government action on climate change is a bad idea. They believe this based on an ideology that generally opposes government action, believing that expanding government powers limit freedom. They're willing to accept the consequences of trying to manage climate change without government intervention. It's difficult to say for certain if such a sacrifice is worthwhile. It's a matter of political philosophy.

The problem is that it's difficult to explain such a philosophy to voters who generally accept the opposite political philosophy: that government should be the apparatus through which social change takes place. So they don't try to explain it. Instead, they argue that there is no climate change. This is an empirical claim and can easily be tested. It's false.

As someone who is usually more conservative, this annoys me to no end. I swear, if tomorrow some liberal anchor on MSNBC said that all Republicans beat their spouses, there'd be a 5-night special on Fox about how spouse-beating is a time-honored American tradition. It's gotten that bad."

That sounds swell, but I don't see that plan being advocated by Ted Cruz. It's truly is like any other Flat Tax plan, but with the modification of deductions. It's nothing new; Rand Paul has a similar plan.

Simple Flat Tax | Cruz for President
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJ90Kel-fs0

THE SIMPLE FLAT TAX PLAN SUMMARY
https://www.tedcruz.org/tax_plan_summary/

PERSONAL INCOME TAX – SINGLE RATE: 10%

The Simple Flat Tax creates a simple, single-rate flat tax for individuals. The existing seven different rates of individual income tax will become one low rate: 10%.

• A family of four will pay no taxes on their first $36,000 of income.
• The plan exempts a large amount of initial income for low- and middle-income taxpayers, with a $10,000 standard deduction and $4,000 personal exemption. It also keeps the Child Tax Credit and expands and modernizes the Earned Income Tax Credit with greater anti-fraud and pro-marriage reforms.
• The plan keeps the charitable giving deduction and features a home mortgage interest deduction, capped at principal value of $500,000.
