I'm fifty percent Croatian, and we were about to head over there to help out some old family that is in the gutter in Zagreb, but the housing market crashed and my folks lost a shitload of money and we couldn't afford to help them :( It was one of the saddest things that's ever happened to me, not being able to help them. Croatia is an amazingly beautiful country, not just regarding the coastline, but inland too, and at the beaches you see a staggering amount of above-average handsome people. The people can be a bit shifty at times, but they are incredibly hospitable and have a wicked sense of humor. I really love being there on vacation, and it does pain me to see their situation is not improving at all.
