He's right, and he's wrong. Factories, if they come back to the US, will be more efficient and automated, meaning less production line jobs. That much is obvious. However it STILL means an increase in American jobs, and less reliance on foreign labor. And in the end that's a good thing, even if it doesn't end up creating as many jobs as people are expecting.

These automated factories could out compete China easily in the North American market because the supply lines would be shorter and less costly.
You can potentially get hundreds or thousands of these factories, supported by high earning millwrights, electricians, mechanics, laborers, ITfags and so forth.
This is the quantum leap we are looking for in North America. It will be simple to get these jobs back.
