Humans were the stronger species and had a higher IQ than the environment, so there's no question why they dominate. They have the full right to, if the environment was meant to survive it would have been stronger and smarter. It's not, so this is the Darwinism necessary to sustain a perfect world.

Humanity won't survive if the Earth is polluted to the point where it becomes uninhabitable. The typical arguments are "space" and "free market". Firstly, we have't been doing any significant space exploration since the dick waving contest with the soviets ended, and we are too far away from colonizing any cosmic body, much less from developing self sufficient settlements. Overall, it is childish and naive to hope we can escape responsibility for how we treat the planet in some sci fi utopia. The other argument is that the free market will fix it, which is patently false since big corporations are responsible for continuing to pollute and spreading disinfo about global warming. When the world becomes toxic, only the very rich will live in "glass domes" or something. The average joe will either live in the post-apocalyptic wasteland, or be all but a slave inside the rich people's domes.
