Obama was black, but he also had a message: "Hope", "Change", and "Yes we can". He even had an iconic hope image. He didn't campaign on being black, as far as I can remember. The turnout increase from young people and blacks was so large that Indiana, a consistent red state, turned blue.
Hillary is a woman, and explicitly campaigns on being a woman. Every image of her campaign on google is just her, or maybe "ready for Hillary" or "I'm with her". She has no message or slogan. She's distrusted by young people, and she has a closet full of skeletons.
