So I really don't get it. I just don't get what it really is that leftists expect to happen after some type of communist uprising. Do they think everyone will start getting along? Do they think that they will really have checks and balance to prevent an imbalance of power within the state?
They don't even have the ability to draw on successful examples of countries having a revolution. The Russian and Chinese revolutions both resulted in the deaths of millions of their citizens.
"But those weren't REAL revolutions" or "Those weren't REAL communists", they will say (no true Scotsman).
Those two main examples aside, these revolutions have happened in many other countries. Cuba and Venezuela are other great examples of people living under the benefits of true equality.
I wonder how people can delude themselves into reading about the countless attempts at these revolutions and the results, and still think it will be different for them.

Currently reading Das Kapital. I read Wealth of Nations shortly before this, and Marx seems to be saying the same things as Smith but ignoring incentives generally, which I think makes his conclusions troublesome. Admittedly I'm not very far in, but does he address incentives later? Also, why should "human labour" be thought of as a single commodity, since the outputs can be vastly different?
