Playing policeman of the world has protected some bigger interests, but we're also the whipping boy of the world either way- we either get slammed for not minding our own business when we do get active, or for not helping enough when our sizable influence and power is wanted.
We might as well accept the latter and save a mint in resources and American lives, which will do much to revitalize our economy.
