Why was stuff like this allowed on the airwaves? Almost everything was depressing no surprise a lot of millennials are crazy as fuck.

I grew up on 90s gangster rap and still listen to it from time to time. Very good shit indeed - they often rap about killing niggers and destroying black communities by selling drugs and committing arson, and encouraging other negros to join gangs while stacking bodies to the sky.

90s mainstream rock wasn't really depressing apart from Alice in Chains and Nirvana's In Utero album. It was just angsty punk/metal/rock music for dissatisfied outcasts.

90's music was great, best time of black metal.

I don't what it is, but women were so much more attractive in the 90s. Not necessarily by means of how they looked, but just by their essence.

>>

The 90's/00's nu-metal explosion was in part funded by Big Pharma.

If you listen, most of the songs by Korn, Disturbed, Mudvayne, etc etc. are about disaffected "crazy" youths who's parents don't understand them. Many of the songs explicitly mention "insanity" and "pills".

So if the music you're listening to is promoting perscription drugs, and the fact that you dress like a faggot has all your school councilors and your parents thinking you should be on perscription drugs, then there you go.

When I was a kid, the cool thing to do in the counterculture was to compare what medications you were taking. I had one friend who was being treated for severe depression and bi-polar disorder with about 6 assorted anti-depressants, anti-psychotics, and seziure meds, at the same time.

I remember riding around in my friends truck one summer blasting Deftones and looking for pussy.
I told him it was sad that one day our kids would shit on our music the way we shit on our parent's music. He said that ours would always be popular for the most part. I guess he was right in a way, even though it's not popular now people still refer to it as some of the best music ever made. That goes for all genres. I don't know anyone young or old that doesn't have a 90s music folder or Pandora station.

Looking back at these video clips.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2qeTqAF3Xw

It's messed up, the director was thinking "we have to record kids in their own room being depressed" what was the goal here?

Late 90s music videos seem to have a lot more contrast than early/mid 90s music videos. Ironic since the music got bleaker.

>>72614898
Obviously the goal was making mental illness seem cool and edgy.

Kids begin to emulate what they see in the music videos, parents get concerned and put them on pills, and this validates the kids shitty behavior.

It also promotes the "special snowflake" brand of thinking that has completely ruined this generation, because instead of being shown how the world works by the firm but loving hand of a parent, we just vomited all our problems on therapists and psychiatrists, who's solution for our teenage angst was simply more pills and another appointment, same time next week.

That's the problem with the "nu-left". They think the world is their therapist.
>>
>>72614898
>what was the goal here
The goal was just that, showing kids being depressed and angry. That was what was cool at the time, being a angry-depressed pussy.

It was a prelude to the emo who was just full blown depressed and not angsty.

Everyone on my street turned out OK for the most part.

White trash kid became a successful mechanic with a body shop
Spoiled kid with big house and all the toys is an engineering student and went on to work for some race car company
One kid grew up to be a heroin junkie and bass player in a funk electonic band
Another is an investment banker

I'm a stay at home dad, I go to college, I'm married, I have two kids

The kids are sorta all right I guess....

They argue that it perverted their religion and that Jesus isn't the Messiah. Also Jewish discrimination and persecution throughout the last 1500 or so years throughout Europe at the hands of Christians. It's more complicated than that though.
Strictly speaking, a Jew wouldn't even want to Christianity to exist. It's like a Fundie Baptist hating on Mormonism.

Rammstein is the shit. I started listening to them when I was an edgy little 14 year old to be cool since they were German and I ended up actually enjoying them. I still listen to them today.

I have a shirt from them I bought like 10 years ago that's been worn so much it's losing the black dye.

Only two people have ever mentioned it, some random Russian dude outside a grocery store, and this fat chick working at Five Guys.

>you now remember """the one""" that got a way

This sums up the entire genre. Pessimistic nostalgia is an impulse that hardly needs encouragement in teens. Always date two at the same time until you get to the most beautiful and truly submissive one and have decades worth of conditions on your love.

popular music was unfortunate at that time, you basically had to choose between degenerate rappers talking about selling drugs and hoes and cars and jewelry OR this numetal despressive bullshit.

rap was actually a positive thing in comparison to this whining bullshit, at least they had a capitalistic vein and didn't pine over women and put cry about their feelings

(((Sony))) killed the 90's with PSX and Rapcore.

It was a top-down change.
>>
>>72622328
At that age I don't know if rap is a better option, you've got to avoid many impulsive draws if you are not going to be fuck up in your 20's, and social depression is easier to get out of than drug addiction.

None is a better option, or rather making art yourself, but good luck telling your friends that you dislike music, that would be a slap in their face. Rap just leaves no room for the listener to learn how to be become his own proper authority, only serves as a quickly fading confidence boost towards thug life.
>>
>>72613338

Depends on what you mean. I prefered the techno-y 90's. Some shit I liked on the radio, but their was nothing like popping in need for speed or jet moto and jamming out to shit like this.

http://youtu.be/toDe6PHnDt4

>>72623419
PSX didn't kill shit. If anything, it introduced me to a lot of bands as a little kid.
>>
>>72622328
The early 00's had the rise of internet that really brought in many other genres.

And I'll always be thankful that the South (and from what I hear the mid west too) had a solid scene for Christian Hardcore. You can bash me for it, but the music was extreme enough to keep it off the Jew radio, but the stuff in the lyrics was always morals and ethics.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GhesBn3qF2s

It was a great time to be alive. The music was far more technical than nu-metal shit, so we could scoff at them, it wasn't nigger shit, but it had intensity to make people question "what are you listening to?" And your response being "Christian metal" always evoked some raised eyebrows. The live shows were great too.

It's your fault decided to grow up listening to shit.
