I was under the impression European states were accepting larger number of refugees.
Also why does the colonial history of these countries automatically require them to accept migrants? The colonies fought for and were granted their independence. The fact that those newly independent countries have since ran themselves into the ground economically or spend their time massacring each other is hardly the concern or responsibility of former colonial powers.
