Was talking to a friend about Trump, he hates him and says he can never back anyone who doesn't believe in climate change. He then asked me how I felt about it, and this is what I said:

"Okay, my thing with global warming is that it's highly theoretical, especially in regard to man's involvement. I think it's up to people like Elon Musk , who is creating an affordable and reliable electric car, and inventing ways to charge it. I think it's up to the private sector, like solar panel companies, to make them better, more efficeient, cheaper, and more realistic. And it's happening through the free market, slowly, but that's the only way to do it.

I think it's up to the president to worry about the security of his people, the economy, and foreign relations.

There have been global warming scares in the past, and everyone thought the world was gonna end. It didn't."

Hit me with it.
>>
Good job, you avoided looking like a retard while telling him you were agnostic on global warming.

Climate change isn't caused by people.
It's an observable phenomenon that tends to happen in 20 year cycles due to the nature the sun radiates.
>>
I always just say that I don't give a fuck. And I really don't. The sooner this planet is fucked up beyond repair, the sooner that we'll start looking into space as the alternative. I don't know why we worry about this fucking planet so much while we continue to breed out of control and we'll just end up overpopulated. We need to start colonizing other planets or some shit.
>>
>>72484773

the sun works in 11 year cycles. it has larger cycles as well, and we are entering one of them right now. it's a 206 year cycle and it's almost always on the dot.

we are cooling not warming.

epin copypasta I made and keep posting in these threads because you dumb faggots can never come up with answers that aren't "hurr just google it m8 like a lot of scientists agree but never published their methodology or anything, they just agree so appeal to authority":

Prove it is:

A: happening (which I don't doubt).

B: can be directly linked to human actions like burning fossil fuels

C: post specifics, how the parts the humans are doing is actually significant. Like what percent is our fault.

D: post specifics, about just how fast "climate is changing" since "global warming" is no longer the meme term. I want real statistics like "we are getting X warmer every year and I will have to worry about it in Y years becuase Z happened and is devastating"

E: post specifics, about just why I should give two fucks if hipsters faggots have to move their shitty cities 2 miles inland while I pay for retarded infrastructure that would probably cost more

F: if all of that is all real and shit, why I would care if it's as tragic as the lefty faggots think, when they're all just destroying our countries and children's futures with mass immigration of mudslimes and taconiggers and increased socialism to support these subhumans

G: Explain how wind turbines that are complete and utter shit, cost more fossil fuels to build and transport and assemble and shit than they save over their liftime and only work in wind, but not too much wind so you have to use tradition power sources anyway, how solar isn't complete shit that get ruined by dust, only works during the day, without clouds or fog or any retard with an umbrella is within 20 miles

H: Explain why we should be pouring billions of my taxpayer money into this when it is proven the private sector is many times more efficient than any government grant program or research fund. If a company makes and patents the next big innovation in energy, they will quite literally become one of the biggest companies in existence

>I don't think any one is questioning that he climate is ever changing, i think they are questioning whether we as humans cause it or not.

Of course. "Denial" has nothing to do with arguing the numbers... it's arguing about it being man-made.

You can't expect a liberal to ever be honest about it, though. It goes against their religion to tell the truth. That's why so many of them just happen to be Jews.
>>
>>72485377
Everything liberals believe, they believe as truth. Science has become a fucking religion.
>>
I think no matter your stance on climate change and/or human involvement, you have to admit that eventually we will run out of fossil fuels, so it is worth investing in new technologies so we can maintain our current dependencies on electricity when we finally run out. I personally think we should be spending more time on nuclear, but heaps of people don't trust it since that Russian one melted down.
>>
>>72486217
Of course, the question I have is what should be the government's role in it?

As much as I love Trump (I'm not even American), if I had to point a problem in his platform, that would be the disregard towards environmental issues.

While I don't give a shit about global warming, local manmade environmental problems are a thing.

Trump loves to talk about China: Look at China. Air, earth and water completely contaminated.

I really hope he has plan to prevent the US from becoming like that when he starts bring back all those industries.

Americans tend to forget that the U.S. isn't the world. Even if we completely switched over to clean energy it wouldn't make any difference.

This is because many other countries are doing the same thing. And there are still countries today that are barely becoming industrialized.

Countries have emulated what the U.S. has done because that's where the money was. When this country is respected and great again, then we can find a way to prosper with alternative energy. Only then will other countries follow.

Plant Hardiness Zone Maps

It's getting colder . . . and the plants know it

In 1960, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) published a Plant Hardiness Zone Map. That’s the map you see on the back of seed packets. Farmers and gardeners use the map to learn where it’s safest to plant various kinds of crops.

The Plant Hardiness Zone Map divides the US and Canada into zones. Each zone represents a 10 degree F (5.6 degree C) difference in average annual minimum temperature. Most of Canada lies in zone 1 (below -50ºF), whereas most of Florida lies in zone 9 (between 20º to 30ºF). The higher the number, in other words, the warmer.
>>
>>72488358

Thirty years later, the USDA compiled a new map. Compare the two maps, and you’ll see that plant hardiness zones in many states have moved south dramatically (meaning that it’s getting colder).

Take Indiana. In 1960, more than half of Indiana was in plant hardiness zone 6. Today, most of the state lies in plant hardiness zone 5.
Or look at Tennessee. In 1960, all of Tennessee - all of it - was in plant hardiness zone 7. And today? Three quarters of the state lies in plant hardiness zone 6.

Similar declines have occurred in Illinois, North Carolina, South Carolina, Missouri, Kentucky, and many other states.

It’s getting colder . . . and the plants know it.

So does the United States government, at least one branch of it.

Farmers and gardeners need to know it, too, so they can adjust their crops accordingly.

Playing like you think the free market will take care of it, always plays into the hands of fossil fuels. They have the means to financially undercut every alternative that can exist, because the product they harvest from the ground is dirt cheep to gather. They spend pennies to gather thousands of gallons of oil and to turn it into fuel, and can price it as cheaply as they want and still make absurd profits, plus they receive government subsidies to cover most of their expenses. They are impossible to compete with on those terms. If left to simple economics, fossil fuels will be burned until there are none left, and the sky has been turned back into the desolate acid bath that it was before the fuel was originally sequestered.
>>
I could care less about global warming. What I care about is the destruction of forests, oceans, etc.... Humans are fucking up many ecosystems and environments.

Global warming is a NWO scam to implement global taxation. It's being achieved by convincing the planet that it is the only way to prevent the apocalypse. We will be paying some "World Environment Congress" billions upon billions of taxes to "keep the world from ending" when guess what? They just pocket it and spend a few bucks on more solar panels so people think change is happening.

t. took a university class on Environmental Economics and can see it's a giant money scam

A: The past few years have all been among the hottest in recorded (1880 onward) weather history: https://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/sotc/global/201513
The worldwide temperature has been found to have risen by about a degree Celsius: http://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-34763036

B: So yes, it's happening. Greenhouse gasses, which we release in great amounts, literally by definition trap heat within the atmosphere, thus making the planet warmer.

C: Yes, global warming is caused primarily by humans, and not volcano's (watch Cosmos if you doubt this). See also: https://www.nwf.org/Wildlife/Threats-to-Wildlife/Global-Warming/Global-Warming-is-Human-Caused.aspx

D: We know that climate change has already had a serious effect (I'll post sources to this in a second) throughout the world. Arctic sea ice reached its lowest extent ever in 2012. Global sea levels have risen some 8 inches over the past century. CO2 recently reached 400 particles per million. Droughts, hurricanes, and forest fires will all worsen as time goes on. You're only argument is that "Oh, well people can't provide exact statistics about every aspect of climate change," and that it therefore isn't real.

E & F: The World Health Organization estimates that some 250,000 extra deaths annually from 2030 to 2050. Experts estimate that by 2020 there will be around 50 million environmental refugees. Global sea levels will continue to rise, thus displacing millions. Diseases will spread due to increased insect range and humidity.

G & E: Government projects may not necessarily be the only answer, but considering that private corporations have taken no initiatives whatsoever to stop global warming (why would they, as their products release greenhouse gasses and they're the ones funding climate change denial in the first place), it's incredibly doubtful that companies will coordinate to fix the problem.
>>
You are all joking right? Its not like you really don't know anything about it or you don't believe its mostly humans fault right?

Wew you got me for a second
>>
>>72483180
That's the way to do it. My response is always it doesn't matter what I believe, the Federal government shouldn't be granting billions of dollars to these corrupt "Green energy" companies that go bankrupt and the money disappears. The free market and the States should adapt as necessary. Man made global warming is a massive hoax disseminated by the political status quo via scientific grants (favoritism towards anything backing up the global warming theory) and the media propagating it nonstop. Obama's green energy policy essentially only exists as a boondoggle, to funnel money from the tax coffers into the pockets of his corporate friends. I usually wouldn't mention that last part to most people.
>>
>>72485149
That's the thing, all the "science" on this is often contradictory, or incredibly vague and imprecise. If it was real why are many proponents of it so intellectually dishonest? Al Gore is really the best example, the man has profited millions off of this scam.
>>
>>72489821
this. Cap and Trade, lmao. "Carbon Credits" my ass
>>
>>72492424
It's not like humans have been burning forests to the ground for thousands of years for warmth or for heating up the ground so hot that certain elements gassiate and leave behind purified condensed elements which adds the the global emissions from volcano's etc.

Or that even if we only made the Ice age come 50 years early on a 10,000 year cycle, we should learn to manage our planets atmosphere properly for climate control and never see an ice age again.
