The thing about Mexicans (this is coming from someone who was born and raised by Mexican cultural/standards) is that they have this pride in what they do. For example, the men are very stubborn and have this "macho" sensation when they feel triggered or in uncomfortable; they want things their way. Mothers in the other hand are very caring of their children and are willing to give up work to become stay-at-home-moms. They will talk on the phone with their comradres about the recent FADS that are occurring or of any recent headline news.
My parents see that I am going to college, and that I am working toward a degree. But they do not understand the concept of a degree. Hell, I am willing to bet, that to them, I am just wasting my time. But they do not scold me in that behalf. People fear what they do not understand. This is why I believe that they give little scrutiny in my time at school.

I've known quite a few Mexicans. I've never been good friends with any of them, but I've come to realize that Mexicans are in-between whites and blacks when it comes to barbarism.
Some of them act more civilized like whites, while others are ghetto like blacks. Most of them are in the middle, however.

1st generation Mexican here, my parents are permanent legal residents as is everyone else who came here in my family. I was a bit hesitant when I heard trumps rhetoric last year - but after hearing his speeches and getting a feel for his type of leadership it's very obvious that the other candidates are shit compared to him. Shame that I can't convince my peers due to the fact that they'll assume I've gone coconut on them. So i'm undercover and behind enemy lines in California. Feels good to register as a republican. As someone who works in the restaurant industry this is a stereotype I don't get. Most Mexicans I know are hardworking, god fearing, family men who love polka music and drinking. Although not as hard working as bro tier Ecuadorians, I would never mind having a Mexican family be my neighbors.
