I like em even on girls. I got them, covering a good percentage of my body. I also have Vitiligo so a good portion of my skin is canvas white, most tattoo artists I have met think its great and want to tattoo over it for how clear my skin is. So when someone comes to me and talk about tattoos and how bad they look, I just show them that besides the tattoos they can see on my body, I also have massive white spots over my body so its not as if I am ruining any purity of my skin.
I see a lot of anti-tattoo stuff on 4chan in general. It kind of baffles me. My guess is that it's seen a pretentious and/or shortsighted. The attitude is probably influenced by the horrid meme/videogame tattoos that exist out there.
I used to view tats negatively, until one day I stopped taking life so seriously as to give a shit, and when I finally found something significant enough that it felt right putting on my skin permanently. It almost felt like I was incomplete without the tattoo.
I think meme/vidya tats are pretty gay as fuck, though. But maybe that attitude is just more of the the same kind of ignorance I'm criticizing.

I don't think there's anything wrong with tattoos IN THEORY as long as they're meaningful, unique, aesthetic, and coverable. Sadly, I've yet to actually come across one that fulfills that criteria. Watercolor tattoos are very pretty but apparently they fade quickly and wind up looking like blobs of paint after a while.
