In both cases it didnt work and both the"Legion Freies Arabien" and the "Legion Freies Indien" were insignifant in numbers.
The vast majority of arabs/muslims fought for the allies, most of them north africans fightings under the french flag.
A few lebanese joined vichy france though, but again most lebanese fought for the "free france".
