I don't think that's a terrible thing, AfD needs to distance itself from the "extremist right wing" to be electable and for the future that will also mean weeding out people that hurt the parties image. If Petry can apply pressure by threatening to leave the party that would be fine, they just need to make sure that the existence of the party isn't on the line.
