Why don't governments or companies encourage asteroid or any space mining? I mean there are trillions of dollars of materials in near Earth objects, so i would think the Jews would at least make some attempt to push this.
>>
Cause it is more expensive than mining on earth.

Because that's only speeding up the inevitability of leaving Earth, away from the influence of the world powers.

Mark my words, when we start going out into space with miners, eventually there will be incentive to make habitable stations for the workers. And then eventually money in consumer habitats. And then eventually when the colonies go out far enough, the ones on the fringes of the Earth's sphere of influence rebel and make their own space-nation with blackjack and hookers and start to rally under space self-determination. Space will usher in the ultimate age of freedom, greater than even the founding of the USA.

Short answer though is it's fuckkin expensive and actually beyond our current science to do even the mining.

Heinlein pls
>>
It's impossible for humans to into space.
>>
>>72077225
space travel has slowed to a crawl since every country capable of it has agreed to make it illegal to claim any part of other planets/moons
>>
Because we can't get the Chinese to do it without giving up the secrets of our space technology.

>implying there won't be a civil war between EarthGov and the Sovereign Colonies
>>
>>72077225
The technology don't exist boi
>>
>>72079294
thats what they said about going to the moon
>>
>>72079388
That's because we had an actual threat in the form of the Soviets who were also trying to get to the moon, and even then you had people calling it a waste of time and money, especially the Civil Rights movement who said the money would've been better spent on poor niggers.
>>
For real it would be easier to mine the deep sea.

Once they figure a way to get magma and shit flowing the right way we will be able to have the earth squirt All sort of good shit we need no problems.

Russians already doing this with super deep oil wells
>>
Fuck asteroid mining. We need a new planet to live on. Earth is being flooded with jamals and ahmeds.
>>
>>72079586
>implying the moon isn't A nigger tier celestial body, shit ain't even habitable fucken da moon man
>>
>>72079586
but that was almost 50 years ago. and the advancement of technology increases exponentially. the problem is countries have no motive since they arent aloud to claim anything
>>
When Jim carey made the mask there were heaps of references sure the secret references to asteroid mining it clear he knows something about it.
>>
>>72077225
It's already happening OP

It's the closest thing we've got until we have wormhole tech that'll get us to at least Saturn's moon, Titan.
>>
>>72077225
Just look at how much they spend on war, compared to space. If we all started mining asteroids, technology and space travel would advance so quickly, the elites would have no control, and would lose all of their power because a lot of people will be in space.

It's all about control and profits through suffering.

bullshit, link or stfu.

It's not commercial viable yet. When there is a space elevator that allows us to send massive quantities of things into space cheaply than we will see massive ore mining drone ships be built and sent out to start collecting ore on a massive scale than that will allow for massive space cities to be built and so on.

When ships are built to go to space they are primarily designed and engineered to exit the atmosphere. When ever a rocket is launched it costs millions in fuel alone and that's for the first tens minutes of flight.

If we were living in older times when we didn't have massive ships, trains and trucks to haul ores from rural sites a lot of deposits wold not be commercially viable for the returns we could bring in compared to the initial costs. As tech progresses we will see new deposits become commercially viable. We will have ships than can haul millions of tonnes in one haul that might take months or years to transport back.
