The national dept went from $10.6 trillion to $20 trillion under Obama.
The deficit was $1.4 trillion when Obama got into office and is now $438 billion.
However, Obama did not "eliminate" anything. The $1.4 trillion deficit of 2009 was caused by the global recession, not "technically" by Bush. Also, a $439 billion deficit is nothing to be proud of.

No. You obviously don't understand how either the debt or the deficit functions. "Obama" didn't double anything. The debt goes up unless we run a surplus higher than the interest on the debt.
The government has to run a surplus of $223 billion dollars, for the debt not to increase.
Think about that.
To prevent the debt from rising, the government has to collect two hundred and twenty three billion dollars MORE than the government costs, from taxpayers.
Just to break even.
Now try to blame it on Democrats that the will to pay it off does not exist (and remember: it's only under Democrats that a surplus has been accomplished, in the last fifty years).

You can't really count those extra couple bounce-backs from after WWII as "surplus." I mean you can, but the reason that they happened aren't analogous to what you'd have to do to run a surplus, now. That's just because things got way better real quick, in the face of victory and massively-accomplished industrialization. It's not really the same situation as trying to run a surplus today.
