One thing you need to understand about Mexico is that people here live almost totally without government influence.
Take tipping for example. If you give your bank card to a restaurant, the waitstaff will take it and run it without a tip like the United States. But in the US, you can write in the tip when you sign the receipt. In Mexico, they won't accept the tip that way because then the Government can take a huge tax out of it. The waiters only take cash tips so the Government cant take it.
There is also no welfare and little unemployment.
