We can't really see what's running server-side (*technically* they can register your IP and all your searches), but yeah they claim they don't save stats, I know they don't track what you do in your browser or the sites you visit because they don't have tracking javascripts on their page and there're no tracking cookies so it's impossible to see what you're doing, they also have an html-only version without javascript for older browsers and for the most paranoid users (duckduckgo.com/html).
