Can someone red pill me on Socialism? What's so scary about it? Would Socialism be good for let's say....USA? idk
>>
Socialism is probably the only thing that corrupts faster then capitalism.
>>
>Would Socialism be good for let's say....USA?

Socialism only works in civilized countries, so I'll let you do the math.
>>
>>72015417
Is Canada socialistic? I know you're liberal and progressive.
>>
>>72015576
Yes . And it's garbage . I lose 30% of my cheque so natives can get pissed and walk around downtown in broad daylight . And I'm not even in a very high tax bracket
>>
>>72015576
Kind of... we're much less so than some progressive European countries.

Our welfare system is not as developed as yours, we still pay for university out-of-pocket (although still cheaper than the US), and we do require private insurance for some health services (e.g. dental work).
>>
>>72015745
Do you have an actual report on what taxes are being spent on?
>>
>>72015745
>Still taxes less then Americans

Fuck
>>
If you believe governments and politicians are corrupt, greedy, liars, that mismanage the bureaucracy, than you SHOULD be anti-socialist because all socialism would do is expand the government's powers and further increase the mismanagement and taxation in the nation.
>>
>>72015293
Socialism always just ends up a worse version of what we have under capitalism, it's just another style of imperialism that fucks you harder than others

no surprise there
>>
>should every aspect of your life function like the DMV?
>>
canada is just like the us, the only socialism we have is for the rich
>>
>>72015293
That Walmart is in Canada. See the Nova Scotia flag.

>>72015745
This desu. I get away with paying only 10% as a poor student. I'm ok with my tax dollars subsidizing healthcare, law enforcement, defence and education but that's where it ends. Those who are capable of working should not receive welfare.
>>
>>72015293
Socialism means that the goverment spends your money instead of you, because they know better. Like a lot of things, it seems nice on paper but in reality the goverment is full of retards I wouldn't trust with a single penny.

we could have a lot of nice things and lower taxes if we weren't giving over a 1/2 trillion to the richest ppl in this country

Capitaism
>give your money to kikes and their corporations
Socialism
>give your money to the unemployed and tax the kikes

Socialism would work in a nation without too many shitskin immigrants who would only abuse the gibsmedat system. Capitalism favors the 1%. Both are shit nowadays unless you combine socialism with nationalism and kick out all shitskins from your country and also fuck with the jews.

they don't pay their taxes and hide money, but they still want a taxpayer bail out

socialism and capitalism aren't mutually exclusive, capitalism is simply the economic production and use of capital, even the soviet union did that, what socialism demands is that all a nation's capital should be controlled by a few people who control the state, instead of allowing people to create, trade and control their own capital, because the people in the ivory towers know what's better for you and convince the individual to trade responsibility away at the price of freedom.

At it's economic essence there is no difference between state run capitalism and Socialism except the question of scale.

The capitalist model used as an anti-theses to socialist doctrine is usually "free market capitalism" where the state has no powers over private capital and relinquishes all rights to state run and regulated means to gain capital.

If you want an easy yay, or nay answer to which is better without thinking too hard about the moral implications of the state taking away your freedom, just look at side by sides like pic related.

people use Scandinavian countries as an example of socialism successes but Norway is simply profiting off of oil reserves and the infrastructure built in the last century to utilise it and Sweden has one of the least regulated economies in the world, aswell as the sheer amount of time past without a war to drain economic assets.
>>
>>72016459
Exactly. And we live in a democracy, meaning the politicians will spend all that money gathered by humongous money on whatever will get them the most votes, usually gibsmedats or something retarded.
>>
>>72015293
Na, fuck you and fuck your bills.
>>
>>72015293
Only good socialism is national socialism
>>

>what socialism demands is that all a nation's capital should be controlled by a few people who control the state

this is actually what the west actually do.
they're just brainwashed into believing the free market fairytale

Then is socialism always rocked by the most pimitive of us?
>>
>>72016157
It isn't subsidizing for police, etc. It is just paying for it.
>>
>>72017171
it's called corporatism, lot's of people like to strawman it as free market capitalism to put the fear of god into budding socialists
>>
>>72015293
-isms are for stupid people, talk about policies.

Would single-payer healthcare be good for the US? It would probably lower costs and put more emphasis on prevention, but might increase wait times, even if you have a system like Australia's where public and private hospitals operate concurrently.

Would council housing in the style of England be good for the US? Probably not. It would lower competition and reduce the efficiency of the market.

Would deregulation of certain things be good for the US? Depends what those things are. Deregulation of house size requirements would probably be good for lower-income earners. Deregulation of mortgages was demonstrably bad.

The world is a messy place, and we tend to get things right more often if we base our actions on observational evidence.

Do you want another hitler regime, anon?
>>
>>72015293
>whats so scary about it?
It denies, or at the lesser extent disestablishes the common sense notion that hard work is intrical to reward. Humans often work in the ethical level of "if i do good, i get rewarded, and if i do bad, i get punished." Socialism requires that you go beyond this level of ethics and give to others what they needfor the "better of society" regardless of merit or work

This is noble on paper, but people take advantage of the system. People who can't reach the ethical level socialism requires of us will either lack the incentive to work, or lack the incentive to give. And just because someone may be at a higher ethical level, doesnt mean that they dont at times go back to lower stages of ethics when the time calls for it, especially when you're giving shit to people who have never worked and never want to.

>will it work i the US?
No. It doesnt work in any society in which people are allowed to diverge from a strict morality.

To make it clearer:
If want freedom, socialism is impossible.
If want morality police, socialism is okay
>>
The only person who wants socialism is the one who never lived in it.

No because the US has a constitution that protects the freedoms of it's citizens.

>deregulation of mortgages clearly bad

Wew lad, just ignore all the other government regulation, policy, and protection that led to the housing crisis.

People like you are the problem.
