I support him because he's consistent, humble, and smart. He's managed businesses for decades and his immigration policy is sane rather than based on some ridiculous notion that we should be morally obligated to accept foreigners en masse for no reason when ISIS has literally said they were attempting to infiltrate them. He's a common sense candidate who isn't bought. No corporation pays for this man. He's the only one running aside from Communist Sanders who has any disconnect from the "do what we say and you get a vacation" elite.

i don't really disagree with most of trump's platform. there's a few things about him that turn me off though, but they're more about what he DOESN'T do i guess

he doesn't speak out against the U.S.-Israel relationship in a way that satisfies me

he doesn't make the environment a very big part of his platform. especially in light of this Wall he intends to build, he'd have a great opportunity as POTUS this term to use the momentum that environmental consciousness in the US has gained and make this major infrastructural project a landmark in US environmental efficiency. even if it were as simple as covering the thing in turbines or PV systems, or using it to for geothermal, nuclear fusion, whatever the case. i just don't see enough from him where he has plenty of slack to run with.

i know that it's often cited out of context, but what little he does say about internet privacy and freedom is alarming to me, and should be to you, even just in a small way

also, his closeness with the Clintons makes me uneasy.

I don't think anyone knows what will fix the economy. I voted for Obama when he said he'd prevent the collapse of the economy and make it better than ever. >encourage saving for health expenses.
This is literally impossible in current market conditions. Uninsured individuals generally have shit jobs (which is why they don't have insurance through their employer), and their shit jobs do not pay them enough to cover health expenses out of pocket. The problem is that treating certain illnesses (cancer is a big one) is just genuinely expensive. A single month of cancer treatment can be worth several years of a low-income patient's wages. Realistically, they are never going to pay the hospital back for their treatment, and that leaves you with two choices:
1) The hospital lets the patient die.
2) The hospital treats the patient at a loss, and has to raise prices on those who can pay to compensate. (If the stars align, this can turn into a vicious cycle that causes prices to spiral out of control as less and less people can afford them).

Pick your poison.

Bernie is correct in that the US healthcare system costs 3x the NHS and 2x the French system. Single payer would be nice, but it's not essential.

Every developed country has price controls on their healthcare system. Unless we integrate price controls we'll continue to waste 5-10% of our GDP on this system that is insanely expensive PER CAPITA but doesn't even cover everyone.

honestly, health is a thing where hospitals have a deal with insiders who set prices high because they're corrupt cunts. The problem with healthcare in America is hospitals not being run on cost-efficient products. A middle man literally determines an arbitrarily high price to pay off insiders and shit. It's disgusting. There's a reason Medical Tourism exists. It's cheaper to travel to other countries for treatment than to treat yourself in the US.

To elaborate further, the inability of the US to make this sort of known-effective and common-sense change despite all the financial and human problems it's causing is due to everyone, at all levels of society, refusing to come to terms with reality, and retreating back into their favorite narratives that absolve them of responsibility.

Honestly we're pretty similar to the Arabs at this point, just that we fuck each other over financially instead of using violence and terror.

If someone is robbing you at gun point, you focus first on how to resolve that one issue. It doesn't mean you don't have other problems to think about, but you do have priorities, and as a practical matter, it's not unreasonable to focus on just one thing.

An addition is that if you look at his positions for the past thirty years in the media, they're the same idea. They thought he might run for president in the 80s, but he eneded up not. He even stronger now has a history of standing up for his business principles and not giving into pressure from the outside. He allowed trans people in his shows, he doesn't care about them using whatever bathroom they choose. He's as common sense and moral as anyone can get. He only supports waterboarding for evil bastards who cut off our citizens' heads and drown them in cages. I disagreed with him at first, but when you watch the videos of these murders, these disgusting assholes need to be destroyed.

Most developed nations solve this problem with dirty, dirty socialism. The government either runs the hospitals (and pays for it using taxes) OR provides insurance (and pays for it using taxes).

The U.S. has opted for a weird kludge. The government doesn't provide insurance or run the hospitals, but insurance is mandatory and if you can't afford it then the government will either provide it (medicaid) or help you pay for it (subsidies). In practice, it's very similar to the government providing insurance directly, except worse, because there are private corporations in the middle who get to make a profit off of you being forced to buy their product. The government has attempted to limit the harm of this with the exchanges - the exchanges create a transparent and competitive market place that helps control prices. It's... not great. It's not bad, but it's not great.

Some states refused the medicaid expansion. If you live in these states and earn income that puts you somewhere in the coverage gap, you are being royally fucked. The law simply wasn't designed with the possibility in mind that that might happen, and you are getting shafted in the worst possible way.

Just the immigration policy alone removes a massive burden on our economy/welfare system. Besides that, his policy regarding companies leaving the US and globalist plots like TPP will mean more jobs for Americans. Jobs that actually matter, not the government jobs Obama rolled out. Protectionism worked for a long time, and still works today for countries like Japan and China. I don't see why the US shouldn't practice it at least somewhat if the country's best interest is what matters. Lower taxes for the middle class means people will be more likely to start businesses, people will buy more things. There's more stuff but that's the gist of it.

Trump never at any point in his campaign has mentioned "common sense" gun control. As for his previous beliefs, people can change their minds you know, people can be wrong too. I trust that he truly believes what he says now more than I can trust Cruz after the sneakiness he has engaged in during this primary.

From his website on the 2nd amendment: "It’s been said that the Second Amendment is America’s first freedom. That’s because the Right to Keep and Bear Arms protects all our other rights. We are the only country in the world that has a Second Amendment. Protecting that freedom is imperative."

The founders would be authoritarians today if they saw how things turned out. It was an expiriment. It failed. Now it's time to start agaim.

Either we have a free democracy, inmigrants vote, leftists win, and our culture dies, or we use coersion and eventually force to remake society the way we see fit, without regard for a "democratic" process. "Democracy" is foreigners voting "yes" to taking your stuff. Authoritarianism is kicking them out. Don't you want to make America great again? Do you really think America can ever be great if it's 45% percent white? There's only one way to stop it.

Or we can have a free democracy and just make sure illegal fucking aliens can't vote. Nationalism and protectionism don't preclude democracy.

Also meant to add, kicking out ILLEGAL ALIENS is not authoritarian, its following the goddamn law.

What the fuck does democracy have to do with the right to own guns?

Well, apparently we need to control all three branches of government just to enforce the law. That's if Trump manages to win. If he doesn't, America can never recover.

Also, part of the problem is second and third generation immigrants who don't let go of their culture, plus there's the issue of birth rates, so I'm not sure deporting current and future illegal immigrants would even be enough to make up for the damage caused by past illegal immigration, much less doing it for only 8 years.

Someone said I sounded like an authoritarian for my view on gun rights. I'm saying authoritarianism can be a good thing under certain circumstances.
