The whole process of losing a nation takes a long time, but the point of no return was probably somewhere around the late 90s or early 00s. Mainstream homosexuality in tv shows, the president lying under oath, 9/11, patriot act, stock market crashing, housing bubble. It's been interesting times to say the least.
