Also, the South Vietnamese didn't even do shit. To quote Full Metal Jacket, "You want an ARVN rifle? Never fired, only dropped once."
The South Vietnamese were weak and folded when USA left.
For some reason people push the war past when the ceasefire was signed and say US lost because Saigon fell years later.
What it really showed is USA isn't good at changing people in Asia. People in Asia are meant to be ruled by a stronger power. USA left South Vietnam was a weak leader and North Vietnam had a strong one.

In spite of spending trillions of dollars on her military, America has regularly been fought to a standstill by people that make arms out of whatever they can find laying around.
