Well, yeah, people felt betrayed with how the EU handled the migrant crisis specially in light of the new attacks. A lot of people lost faith in the left wing and started mistrusting the narrative. The media berating them and insulting them for their concerns backfired also. Don't delude yourself though, it's an uphill battle and we barely took the first steps.

Only a minority of Europeans is anti-immigration. A significant minority, but a minority nonetheless. The political class has an even smaller minority that's anti-immigration.
This is what will happen in all Western European countries, in one form or another depending on their political systems. The """far right""" will rise to prominence, the political establishment will panic, they will create an alternative option, the grand majority of the electorate will vote for this alternative option (or rather, against the "far right").
We already saw this with the regional elections in France: Sarkozy rallied all moderate right parties behind him in Les Républicains purely to form an alternative right wing option. Then, the Parti Socialiste withdrew from participating in the elections in the two regions where FN was most powerful, ensuring everyone who didn't support FN would support Les Républicains. End result? Zero seats for FN. They're the largest opposition party in every single Region of France, but that's pretty meaningless all things considered.
In the Netherlands it's even worse. We have a parliamentary democracy that functions on coalitions: not one party wins the elections like in the UK, but two or three parties work together until they have a combined majority in parliament, and after that they form a cabinet. A few years ago the Freedom Party of Geert Wilders was the third largest party. So you expect the government to consist of it and the two other largest parties, right? WRONG! Only the SGP (the hardline "no fun allowed" Protestant party with literally one seat in parliament) wanted to cooperate with the Freedom Party. End result? The coalition consisted of the first, second and fourth largest parties, with the Freedom Party being eliminated from the government. They were considered a "gedoogpartij" (which means they have a special position in the oppisition) but like with the FN, it's meaningless.

The narrative is not "far right" vs "moderates" or whatever. The facts demonstrate that it is the establishment vs the anti-establishment parties. And the establishment has both the media and the majority vote on their side.
As for Eastern Europe, they are in an incredibly weak position in the EU and in no place to bargain. Führerin Merkel and her lapdog the Governer of the Federal Province of France Hollande will enforce diversity on Eastern Europe and use their position of power for leverage (Eastern Europe is almost entirely dependent on money from mostly France and Germany). Either Eastern Europe will crack under the pressure, or the EU will collapse. The latter will barely affect the strong economies of the West, but for the weak economies of the East it's a disaster, especially when this makes them vulnerable to the hungry fangs of Russia. This fear of both annexation and financial decay will probably keep many Slavshit leaders in line.
The future isn't bright, it's so dark that even staring directly into the sun won't lift the darkness. But it seems the politicians and peoples of Europe alike do not realize a truth that the Americans do realize: those who make a peaceful revolution impossible make a violent revolution inevitable.
