I work at a college and a lot of the research assistants are Muslims that wear the hijab. Apparently they can't say hello to males not their husband. I thought they were just the rudest people in the world. Now I always say hello in a very apparent manner.

In America, we beleive all people are created equally. Men, women, gays, so on. You, buy wearing a hijab are submitting youself to a lower class of person. You dont have a say in if you wear it, cause you might catch acid in the face for not. So, yes it does make you less of an American, because you are acknowledging that you as a women are not equal, and should be covered.
