If you are looking for natural landscapes, Texas, as big as it is, is one of the worst states. Most such sites, other than beaches, are in West Texas. Guadalupe and Big Bend National Parks are in the western half of the state, but as far as other national parks in the Western USA, these parks don't offer much. If you are looking for landscapes, Texas is not the state for you. Utah, Arizona, Wyoming, New Mexico, Colorado, Idaho and Montana are significantly better.
