There is enough evidence to prove that British people are not Germanic or Anglo Saxons, but mostly descended from the subjugated pre-conquest populations of the British Isles. They were mostly Celts that were conquered by the Anglo Saxons and adopted their language and customs, but aren't genetically Germanic.
The average English man is genetically closere to an Irishman than a German man.

British are considered Germanic because the Angles, Saxons and Jutes who colonized Britain were Germanic tribes from northern Germany.

I wanted to make this post cause I see a lot of people who see England as part of the Germanic countries, when in fact they are something distinct. The fact that they are an island also makes them very different from the rest of European countries. They might have more in common with France than Germany,
I never understood why Nazis saw the British as their Germanic brethen. But I guess it was just pragmatism, since they also saw the Italians as partly Germanic, even if they obviously aren't, just because they were allies.
