If anything they're blowing it out of proportion. China's military, yet huge, would get btfo by any western intervention. Of course it won't come to that however.

I've been thinking about this for awhile. The cold war "ended" officially but never did behind the scenes. Everything you see today is a result of KGB and Soviets invading America. They are bringing down capitalism from the inside out.

Why do you think all of the social justice movements rely on Marxist rhetoric?

>Are we in the middle of a new cold war?
Dude. You have been in the middle of a new Cold War since 2001. It just got more obvious.

Why 2001 you ask?
Well in 2001 the US unilaterally pulled out of the Anti Ballistic Missile Treaty.
Why is this so important? Simple. That treaty stated that Russia and the US were only allowed to have one facility that could shoot down ballistic missiles. And that facility had to not be hidden and told to the other party where it was located.
There are a multitude of reasons why this treaty came about. The two major ones were saving money (oy vey) and ensuring that no one could have a nuclear first strike capability.

Because if one nation had the capability to launch a full blown nuclear attack on the other, without fear of having the opponent's nuclear warheads reach them, it would be a lot more tempting to start a nuclear war than the stand-off that existed.

This is why Putin has been laughing about US claims that anti-missile facilities located in Europe are aimed at Iranian missiles, not Russian missiles. (Note: Iranian missiles don't even have the range to reach the anti-missile facilities.)

This is also why the US facilitated regime change in Ukraine. Not only would it deny Russia the Crimea, but it would allow the US to position anti-missile systems inside Ukraine. Facilities that would be within range to shoot down the majority of the Russian nuclear arsenal when it is in the boost phase (their most vulnerable time).

This is also why the US has let North Korea continue it's nuclear and space program for the last couple of years. Because now they have a convenient excuse to place an anti-missile facility in South Korea. All to protect the US from evil North Korean missiles they say. but incidentally perfectly positioned to stop China's missiles too.
Which is incidentally why China is the nation leading the charge against getting North Korea to stop it's nuclear and missile program. China knows full well what the US' true intentions are.

Also the war in Syria is yet another part of this whole affair. The US thought it could get Ukraine in it's pocket and deny Russia the Crimean port of Sevastopol and thus gut their Black Sea presence and ability to project into the Mediterranean.
But Russia had this small naval facility in Syria. One that they started to expand into a more full fledged naval base to basically facilitate Mediterranean fleet projection. Something the US really didn't want to see.

Meanwhile it looks like Syria is going to win. And Russia has annexed Crimea. Making the US lose on those two objectives.
The one minor victory the US has, is that the current Ukrainian government has barred the sale of naval turbine engines to Russia. So a couple of their ships are going to be delayed in production until a Russian supplier can make engines required. Or the trade deal is opened again (not likely).

>>
>>71902061
I am sure you have all noticed that more recently there have been a lot of media reports of Russian military being close to Western military forces or borders.

This is actually not a new development. This shit has been going on for years and years. The difference now, is that the government is fermenting the notion in the populace, that the Russians are bad and evil and want us dead.
They don't mention however that we do the same shit to them. The US holds yearly wargames on North Korea's and Russia's borders. The US sails ships and flies planes near islands and territorial waters of China, Iran and Russia all the goddamn time.
And the response is always the same, they send in armed forces to show the Americans back out.
That recent event in the Baltic was just that again. A US destroyer sailed out of international waters and into the territorial waters of Russia, while carrying advanced signals equipment so that it could pick up and analyze Russian signals (both radio and radar) coming out of the Kaliningrad Oblast. One of the most strategically important pieces of Russian soil in Europe.
>>
>>71902061
How the fuck they can "not let" them do that shit? They did exacly the same thing as they did with Iran - sanctiobs anc diplomatic talks. It worked with Iran but not with NKorea. WTF do you expect them to do? Launch and attack? China will go and help NKorea just like they did in last Korean war. Russia might join too since they have such war relationships.
Even IF they liberate NorthKorea, wtf are they going to do with 15 milions of north koreans who think Kim is some kinda god anc they dont know what freedom is. They have been brinewashed all their lives thinking that they are the best nation in the world.
Think abouth this shit rationaly.
>>
>>71902374
Interesting. So basically the US is trying to neuter russian and chinese (And NK and anyone else threatening's) nuke capability?

And I presume that doing that allows for a window of "we have nukes, do what we want"?

>The US holds yearly wargames on North Korea's and Russia's borders. The US sails ships and flies planes near islands and territorial waters of China, Iran and Russia all the goddamn time.

Interesting. I saw the korean and chinese bits of that on jap news.

Where does Europe and the UK fit in to all this? And India, the string of pearls thing with China?

US is amassing ballistic interceptors around our borders "against Iran" which undermines our nuclear deterrent capability, US refused to disband or let us join NATO showing that it's indeed an alliance aimed against us, US refused to jointly operate missile detection radars that it wants to build near our borders, US keeps their nukes in Europe and Turkey which caused Cuban Crisis in the past, all the while calling us aggressors that want war.
>>
>>71902173
>i really don't want nuclear war
Not likely for the most part. Except the current US nominee for command of European forces has said that he would order forces to shoot on the Russians. But I expect it's all an act of looking and sounding tough.

The main reason we won't see nuclear war though is that the anti-ballistic missile defence shield that the US so eagerly wanted to erect, proved to be a lot harder to do. Mainly in the most critical component, good interception missiles.
The current phase of the plans seems to be to set up facilities in Poland, with the main aim being the shootdown of shorter ranged ballistic missiles stationed in the Kaliningrad Oblast.
As the war in Yemen has showed. These long range missiles are a very powerful weapon indeed. The Yemeni forces have been launching them at Saudi bases inside Yemen and inflicting massive casualties (triple digits) and the destruction of valuable equipment. It got so bad that Blackwater mercenaries cancelled their contract and pulled out due to the losses they were taking.
And Russia has missiles like this, with even bigger warheads and longer range stationed in Kaliningrad. Where they could inflict massive destruction to NATO forces in Europe.
>>
>>71903069
>pol
>stupid

Never
>>
>>71902487
The US knew full well that North Korea had restarted it's nuclear weapons program and it's space program. Yet they stood by and did nothing. Why? Because they wanted North Korea to have conducted very visible tests like they always would.
Never before during all previous times North Korea seemed to be getting a nuke and long range missiles did the US propose to put an anti-ballistic missile facility in South Korea until now. What has changed? China has.
China is developing a blue water navy and has reaffirmed it's claims to islands in the South China Sea. Islands that some US allies also claim (Though that's not the point. It's that anyone that isn't the US is expanding it's power).

>>71902704
>Where does Europe and the UK fit in to all this? And India, the string of pearls thing with China?
Europe are the US' lapdogs. They US tells them what to do and they follow. A bit harder of a sell on the UK and French due to them having their own overseas territories, but overall they are loyal to a T.

India is a unique thing. Everyone wants to be friends with India, because they are a very strong potential ally. And India is loving it. They are making deals with Russia, China, Europe and the US.
In the long run, India will want to chart it's own course and start challenging other nations for influence. But right now, without any power projection capabilities beyond it's own neighbours, that is not going to happen.

>>71903069
>US keeps their nukes in Europe and Turkey which caused Cuban Crisis in the past, all the while calling us aggressors that want war.

I think the one potential step for Russia is the creation of a anti-ballistic missile station and situate it in Cuba. To force the US into the signing of a new Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty.

>I think the one potential step for Russia is the creation of a anti-ballistic missile station and situate it in Cuba. To force the US into the signing of a new Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty.

So it's just history repeating itself but inverted. Great.

So that's basically the military/strategic crap? Just gaining control of places to stick anti-ballisitc missile stations?

So where do the migrant crisis and other popular political bullshit come into play? Or is that unrelated/outside your research?
>>

>So that's basically the military/strategic crap? Just gaining control of places to stick anti-ballisitc missile stations?
Bases. Wars since about the 1800s have been about bases. Especially since the 1900s.
It's all about being able to project power. There is a reason Britain, even with it's neutered military is so powerful still. And that's the bases in it's former colonies. The bases on Cyprus alone ensure that the entire Eastern Mediterranean can be attacked by the UK at a moment's notice. All without the need of aircraft carriers.
ABM bases are just a new thing, and thus a lot of them are going to crop up over time. And they will be very important.

>>71904299
>So where do the migrant crisis and other popular political bullshit come into play? Or is that unrelated/outside your research?
That's not the US doing. That's actually Turkey, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States. With the Useful Idiots of the Left and George Soros helping them.

Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States basically want to flood Europe with muslims so that a fifth column is inserted within Western society that could aid them in any potential conflict. With the added long term goal that they may even take over the nations and be good Muslim allies.
Meanwhile Turkey is using the migrant crisis to force extort Europe. They initially wanted $3 billion. Now they are gettin $6.8 billion. Plus they want visa free travel for Turks in Europe. Something they haven't been able to get in decades of negotiations, but now it seems to go through. All because Turkey threatens to flood Europe with migrants if they don't.
>>
>>71904451
>Wait until the north pole starts melting and Big Bear and Flying Dragon start fighting over who gets to drill up there.
I suspect they will sign an Arctic Treaty much like the Antarctic Treaty. That will recognise that everyone and no one owns any land there. And no one is allowed to exploit the natural resources there.

Why would anyone be fine with this? Simple. Arctic drilling is expensive as fuck. Arctic basing is expensive as fuck. And that's on a non-permanent basis. If they want to do so permanently, it's going to cost a lot of money. If they could just sign a treaty that says, "Sure we can't have it, but neither can those bastards.", it will be much cheaper.

Remember. Since money can buy you power. And everything is about power. By proxy everything is also about money.

You can't be an independent country if you're occupied like Germany or can be occupied or destroyed in a short time. If the US will manage to achieve nuclear superiority they would be able to dictate us their will freely because they could potentially simply nukes us in first strike without any meaningful retaliation.

If western media stopped licking their boots and our countries stopped trading with them the communist party would die off even faster than they already are.

I'd rather have at least the token preservation of non-US culture as opposed to Saudi Arabia pushing Islamic values everywhere. Russia and China haven't been too kind in that regard in the recent past either, sorry Ivan.
>>
>>71906320
>preservation of non-US culture
Are you serious? Your so called "culture" erodes and destroys all other native thousand years old cultures in the world and replaces them with your own generic, mass-produced, tasteless, plebeian pop-culture aimed to facilitate consumerism and earn money to your corporations. I wouldn't be surprised if the roots of race-mixing course that the European politicians (who are pawns of US) take grow from there too. It'd be much more profitable to have one global brown race of mindless consumers than some nationalists that remember their own roots and refuse to buy American kitsch.

Saudi Arabia is your greatest ally and pushing Islamic values and terrorism can be vital in destabilizing your enemies like Russia and China that have significant Muslim population and land borders with other Muslim countries.

Why do people think that superior tactics and tech will always beat overwhelming numbers? This has never been the case at any point in history, except when the tech difference is something like Spears vs rifles. And even then that is not always guaranteed
>>
>>71913481
Nobody thinks they "always" beat overwhelming numbers, superior tech and tactics does have an advantage over higher numbers though. Also "overwhelming" numbers inherently means they will be victorious, otherwise they do not have "overwhelming" numbers. On a modern battlefield the army with the tech and tactics advantage will win, the numbers advantage is already slim relative to the effectiveness of modern weapons. Those 3 factors also aren't the only ones that play a part, the industry of a nation, their allies, and terrain/logistics also play a huge part in determining what the engagement will be like
