Social health care is not bad. Never have to worry about going broke for getting sick. Everyone is gonna die at some point. Nobody should be left behind if they don't pay the bills.
>>
>>71882244
>Everyone is gonna die at some point
that doesn't justify having broken healthcare that takes forever to help people

here in poland we had free healthcare for a while too. if we actually want to get healed we still need to go to a private clinic though.

free healthcare is a fucking joke. you wait several months for a simple check up, and years for operations that require fast response.

There's what, 7 billion people in the world? Is this shit even sustainable? Should we be promoting equal healthcare to bums and idiots so they can reproduce and shit up our planet more?

Where did you get the idea that people are entitled to healthcare?

>>71881615
Because we don't want shitty healthcare, shitty doctors, shitty equipment and long lines.

I work for the DMV. A very well known government program in the US. The DMV is the way it is because of the State running it. Hours and hours in lines, long appointments, poor service, etc.

There are private agencies that do the same thing we do. You pay them for the same services we perform. Their wait times are very low, appointments are quick and customer service is exellent.

When you force healthcare to be profitable and competitive it makes the quality of the service so great that rich foreigners come to our country to be treated by even the doctors that see our poor people.

We don't have long lines, long waits, and will be seen immediately. All because we have to pay for it ourselves.

No. The healthcare access is infinitely better in other OECD countries than the U.S. The "best" doctors work in the U.S. because that's where inflated wages are thanks to corrupt legislation via lobbying. Why the fuck should a "pharmacist" make $100k a year in the U.S.? In Australian that nigger is called a 'pill dispenser' and makes about $40K a year.

In the USA, blacks are way over-represented in government positions. Even under the best conditions, our government is slow and clumsy. Add in a critical mass of blacks, and it's a disaster.

I believe socialized health care can work in smaller, more homogeneous countries. But it would be a clusterfuck in America.
>>
>>71883653
Jesus Christ, you're insane if you're happy with the speed of care with "private" medicine. Granted in our system emergency and catastrophic care may be good (if you have insurance, else you're just going to go bankrupt) but for simple things, access is shit. I needed to see someone about an eye issue, and of course I first had to see my "primary care physician" and then make an appointment with a specialist. Both appointments are overbooked so the insurance companies can be scammed. They charge the insurance companies for an hour medical visit but the average time a doctor spends with a patient is about 10 minutes.
It would be nice if the U.S. had like college campuses have where you can walk in and see a nurse practitioner, or doctor, depending on your need and then get out.

>>
>>71884038
So it depends on your situation here. My situation is different from yours because of competition. In the US, thanks to private healthcare they are very competitive here and the quality is high if you are smart, do your research, and choose carefully. More expensive insurance doesn't mean better quality.
>>
>>71884490
>>71884490
>>71884038
>>71884038
Continued from above. It depends on your medical insurance situation. You sound like a person without insurance or with a very shitty insurance with a shitty network. My insurance allows me to bypass my primary care physician for a case like yours and go straight to their urgent care. My doctor encouraged me to do so just in case and the insurance will still pay for it.
>>
>>71883705

Keyword "access". The actual quality of the care itself is the best in the US.
>>
>>71884729

Also, the pharmacist makes solutions and topical creams and shit, basically prepares the medicine for usage, which requires extensive and expensive training. There are people behind the counter working with/for that guy that basically just hand out pills and write up bills, they're assistants, and they make minimum, or not far from it.
>>
You wanna know what the top three storeis about our amazing public health care system are?

It costs too much money.

It provides an absolutely god awful product.

And we desperately need to start pumping even more money into it.

Those Americans who'll tell you public healthcare won't be obscenely expensive are god damn liars, basically every country that has it has enormous difficulties paying for it or providing a decent level of it. Maybe still a better choice then what America's got now but it's nowhere near as clearcut as it's made out to be.
>>
>>71884038
They do, I don't have health insurance by choice, and whenever something is wrong with me that needs attention, I go to a walgreens with a walk in clinic and get seen by a nurse practitioner or a new doctor (intern/resident who needs the hours and is moonlighting) it's never cost me more than 200 bucks with the cost of the visit and prescriptions added together. For more serious stuff, there are 2 hospital affiliated emergency walk in clinics within 10 miles of where I live. They have the full setup. Xray machines and so on. People who are poor enough to not be able to afford a couple hundred bucks in an emergency, are the type of people who are going to call an ambulance, go to a real hospital ER, get treated, and then just throw away the bill when they get it anyway.
>>
>>71884627
My insurance situation is weak because I live in a rural area so there's no need for competition. If I lived in a coastal city I'd probably be better. Regardless, you really think Canadians or Australians are worse off in this scenario? Even in your case, urgent care requires a co-pay in most cases. I used to have better insurance and it cost $50 for an urgent care visit.
Not to mention this whole insurance system hurts competition in other field because after growing to a certain size small businesses need to pay for healthcare rather than reinvest in the company. That's not a problem for a bigger company. So again we can see the American system is really just a blowjob to big corporations.

When I lived right on the US Canada border, I knew loads of people who would drive over, and just pay cash to see American doctors because they simply did not, or could not afford to wait
>>
>>71885445
That pic mentions surgery. The problem with the American system is that's it's hard to get preventative care because the access for simple things is so cumbersome.
I used to work for a place that would allow two consecutive sick days no questions asked, but on the third day required a doctor's note. Getting that was such a pain in the ass everyone just forced themselves to come back on the third day. No one in the U.S. finds visiting the doctor a simple experience.

>>71884811
Nothing they do requires the equivalent of a doctorate in chemistry. Except maybe just to be a buffer against lawsuits. Another American problem where you can bring frivolous lawsuits with no repercussions.

Yeah, that's eight years of school dude. Maybe you recall how to add 4+4. Doctorate programs can be as short as three years.

If you think Pharmacists are mixing drugs in the back you're naive. In your other response you made it sound like you think "mixing ointments" requires eight years of school and $100K a year. It doesn't. Deal with it.
>>
>>71881615

>>
>>71884038
>if you have insurance
So 90% of Americans?
>>
>>71886515

My point was that if their job didn't require 8 years of school then they wouldn't do it. It's not the way it is simply for the sake of liability, that's a stupid idea because it wouldn't even work.

Yes, they are mixing drugs back there. That's an actual part of the job, along with knowing information about basically every drug they sell to make sure that prescriptions aren't going to fucking kill someone because of a clerical error or mistake on the part of the perscriber.

If we had socialized medicine, people like me with better circustances, better insurance, and better medical facilities would be required to lower our standards down to yours to be "equal." Not only that but right, although I'm not trying to be judgemental, you can better your circumstances up to mine by moving out of that area to a better area with better jobs and better healthcare if that's all you want.

In places with socialized medicine that's not possible. There are not such thing as better areas with better doctors with better facilities. It's all the same everywhere.

>>71885445
I've heard of this as well where people from Canada do come to American medical facilities for quick care so they don't die in line.
>>
>>71886741
Most of that Obamacare tier insurance has such a high deductible that the only real use is if you got into a catastrophic accident you'd only be $20K in debt rather than $100k. In other words, it's shit.

>>71886757
The fact is that the U.S. is the only place in the world where that job requires that level of education and pay. You may think that helps the overall healthcare system, but I maintain it's only that way because of lobbying on the part of pharmacy worker associations and the educational institutions. About 40 years ago, to be a pharmacist you just needed a 4-year bachelor's degree.
>>
>>71887173
>In places with socialized medicine that's not possible. There are not such thing as better areas with better doctors with better facilities. It's all the same everywhere.

That's not entirely true. In the UK, for example, private care still exists. Rich Britons often have private supplemental insurance to pay for expedited service from more highly skilled professionals.

Good for them if they are rich. To bad for the middle class and lower class though. However, in America, that's the average American with health insurance. We don't have to be rich here to get that.

Pharmacists have more responsibility for getting your prescriptions right than the fuckwit doctors.

The number of times the girl at Rite-Aid saves your fucking life because some dipshit with a white labcoat prescribed a drug with a major goddamn conflict with another of your prescriptions, or just typed in the wrong damn drug name is disturbingly high.

The problem with health care is simple: Jews. The insurance companies are the ones that control health care. Spend ten minutes talking with anyone in Hospital billing, they'll love to explain the goddamn mess they have to deal with because of insurance billing.

Follow the money, follow the nose.
