A teacher in Middletown, New Jersey was asked to resign after he showed John Oliver's "Make Donald Drumpf Again" video to his students. Parents were upset and the board asked the non tenured teacher to resign. Now it has gained press and he has rescinded his resignation. Students have started a petition to keep the teacher and it has almost 4,000 online signatures.

My elementary and middle schools both had huge fields which kids loved to have recess, phys ed, and field day in. The elementary school's field was big enough to host one of our several annual fairs in. Then a few years ago each had huge expansions for more classrooms which took up half the field of each. As a result one lost one of its baseball fields (two meant multiple phys ed classes could be having kickball all the time, everyone loved kickball) and the other lost its sandbox and playground. Pretty depressing. I hate this push for population growth, even in a still 90% white town like mine.
