What people fail to realise that income tax wasn't simply used for the government to get money it was also used to encourage people to do something else with their money other than filling their own pockets. Like pay your workers more, invest it, create jobs. Going over the 90% bracket means every dollar after it you only get 10 cents which is pretty retarded so you do something else with the money flowing into the company rather than just giving it all to the government.
