Was Shakespeare black?
>>71868645
Last I heard Shakespeare was a pseudonym for a collective of anonymous writers.
Actually...
The funny thing is that more poltards got triggered over this image in one day than black people over Egyptians in total

>Caesar was a nigger

Jesus fucking Christ, how SJW-infested does Google have to be to portray both Shakespeare and all of his characters as having dark skin? It's almost pathological.
WE

>almost pathological
>almost
>Rome is West African
>Juliet is Arabic
Don't worry, it's just a stylistic choice by the artist to use colors like that. I hope...
Clearly it's an art style, not the skin.

Totally coincidental art style they didn't know what they were doing at all

Estonia wannabe speaks the truth.
If Shakespeare was completely white in that image it would conflict with the other colours that the artist chosen and used.

Although it may be true that a woman wrote some of his plays, it is false that she was black. She is described as black haired Mediterranean. She was likely white with black hair and a slight tan. To say she was negroid is incorrect.

There's a theory the plays were actually written by a group of people, not one individual.
What if the whole thing's a troll and those plays weren't even considered good at the time they were written, some society of dead people are having a giggle bc they convinced a bunch of people this is high art?

Who?
>>71872257
Sick reference bro.
well they say if you give a monkey a typewriter they will eventually make shakespear
>>71868645
Is it correct to say colored playwright or playwright of color?
NO.
/thread
>>71872793
neither, the term is "nigger"
>>71872257
It all makes sense now

Looks like a stylicstic choice.
Some figures are black
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black-figure_pottery
Some are red
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red-figure_pottery
Everything looks unnatural but the color palette sticks to mostly earth tones. Thos supposedly black figures don't look like Idris Elbas. Of course we need 20 threads a day for this particular problem on this board holy shit.

Doubt it. Shakespeare is beyond classic, every half decent work of drama produced in the last 450 years takes some influence from him. His themes are universal and transcend time. If he's a hack, then I'd love to see what the "real" playwrites were coming up with back then, because it must be borderline fucking divine.

I've studied Shakespeare. The idea that he sits in a room and dreams up everything is a very common, but in reality, many of his plays were either inspired or semi-copied off older works. Hamlet is one of the best examples of this (Read: Ur-Hamlet and Amleth). Shakespeare basically took the whole story from Saxo Grammaticus that Belleforest had translated to French (meaning Shakespeare either knew French or someone else translated it to English). Either way, Shakespeare took the story and touched it up a bit.

Is the character arch of Henry V copped from an earlier work?
He's my favorite character, I love how him and Falstaff are Aquinas tier degenerates during Henry IV with no hope of being a person who would live a life that was worth a shit who slowly transitions to based as fuck king by the end of Henry V
>>71875648
This. Titus Andronicus might not even be his.
