Bernie supporters don't understand statistics. Bernie's chances are so unlikely even TYT have to admit it's over. At least Cruz supporters know they have to take as many delegates as possible because a contested convention is their only hope.

>>

The funny thing is even if he does pull out a win hilldog will still get like 250 and clinch it in the unlikely event she hadn't already.
>>
>>71865747

The Democratic primaries don't have any WTA states, you mong. There's effectively a statistical impossibility that Bernie will obtain more pledged delegates than Hillary unless she drops out of the race.

>>
>>71866097
They are unbound delegates meaning that although they do represent a large amount of voters, nobody votes for them so they can theoretically choose to support whomever they want. I believe in practice they usually switch with the majority though like with Obungo vs Shillary in 2008. It's like a failsafe for the Democrat leadership.
>>
The problem for Bernie is that none of the states are winner take all for democrats. Even if he somehow wins big in one state, unless his remaining average is about 60%, he's fucked, and that's a tall order.

To say nothing of the fact that if it's remotely close the superdelegates will rig it in favor for Hillary.

>>71866097
Funnily enough, the "democratic" party has a system where they have a large number of delegates who get to vote off of their own preferences rather than any correlation to the will of the voters. The idea is that if a candidate like Bernie comes around and they hate him enough, they can rig the vote.

The idea that Bernie has any chance in hell whatsoever hinges on the assumption that superdelegates would swing for him...which is against the point of superdelegates in the first place.
>>
>>71865747
It's really quite sad.

At first I thought berniefags would realize he's done back with super tuesday. But they continue to hold out hope long after it's truly hopeless. And it's just fucking pathetic watching them squirm and think bernie can still get the nomination.

And I was hoping to see a mass berniefag suicide, jonestown-style. But instead we just get this protracted withering.

The ONLY WAY bernie is getting the nomination is if hillary is indicted before the convention and all the superdelegates switch to bernie out of necessity

Superdelegates are a good thing to avoid getting your party taken over by people who can just sign up and immediately vote for internal party issues. The GOP could have avoided Donald "Israel forever!" Trump with this simple trick.

And no there is nothing anti-democracy about internal party structure.

Americans are too lazy to support and vote for 3rd party. Kurds in Turkey and Arabs in Israel have managed to vote in their own parties representing their own issues. Americans have no excuse.

Important Dem party officials and politicians, they were implemented after the disaster of 1968 and McGovern getting BTFO.
>>
>>71866459
They're people pre-chosen by the DNC to rig the vote.

Hilariously, the democratic party is even LESS democratic than the RNC, which while engaged in self-interests, at least largely operate under the VENEER of representing the people. Superdelegates are a deliberate fuck-you to the popular vote if superdelegates don't agree.
>>
>>71866459
Probably depends on the state. I would assume they're people who work random political jobs, then somebody they helped get into power gives them a call and offers the job
>>
>>71866459
Regular delegates are people elected to represent their district at the convention and must vote according to whoever won their district in the primary. Super delegates are party leaders, like Dianne Feinstein or Joe Biden and they can vote for who ever they want.
>>
>>71866459
They are separate, for instance, the Iowa caucus was about 50% 50% in terms of votes slightly in favour of Hillary. I believe they got the same amount of delegates from that caucus so imagine that they both 'won' 7 delegates, that means 7 delegates will have to pledge for hillary and 7 for Bernie, regardless whether they actually support them or not. they are 'bound' delegates. Bound by the vote

Superdelegates do not have to follow any vote, they can pledge for whoever they want. So most Superdelegates have pledged for Hillary.

Delegates are often people who were previously elected. Bill Clinton is a delegate I believe.

>Superdelegates are a good thing to avoid getting your party taken over by people who can just sign up and immediately vote for internal party issues

This. They're a check against mob rule.

I can guarantee the GOP will switch to a superdelegate system after this, just like how the dems switched to superdelegates after 1968.

That's the point. If the democrat establishment does not like the people's choice they can overturn it. They don't even have to tho, he's losing with bound delegates also.
>>
>>71867171
It isn't. That's the point, and it's also why unless Bernie averaged a shitton of the vote (which he hasn't and won't at this leg in the game) they would rig it in favor of Hillary anyway.

Obama was establishment enough in 08 plus being black that the superdelegates went from Hillary early in the race to flip to Obama. That won't happen for Bernie because being a socialist aside he's a fucking WHITE MALE and thus not worth any liberal retard gimme votes.
>>
>>71867039
Yup, not that it will help them much, the Republican party's last president ever will have been Bush (and Trump, but he's not the party's candidate so I'm not counting him). I'm still hoping Biden swoops in to save the day if Hillary gets indicted. Biden has the sort of personality that would make the republican primaries look like a puppy bowl. Biden vs Trump debates would be a fucking glorious cagematch.
Go back and look at the Biden vs Ryan debates. The guy has the type of charisma that could cope with Trump's political style.

Only sheltered, rich children are either nowadays.

Hillary goes to jail, and then Obama pardons her and now Hillary is guilty of no crimes.

No thanks, wait until Trump actually wins before doing anything with Hillary.

Dems always bragged about how they were the party of math and science. This election proves that this is no longer true. Bernie fags are literally mentally ill.

>implying Obama would pardon her

I almost feel bad for Obama. Even though I disagree with nearly every major move he's made, I can recognize that all candidates running must look like shit from his point of view. Regardless of who wins, what he views as his biggest accomplishments will be thrown out or face huge PR disasters by a slimy president (Hillary). This shitshow has to be keeping him up at night.

They do believe free shit is viable economics though

No it isn't, retard.
Here's a very simple example:
>49% of the population earns 30k or more a year
>51% earns less than that.
>The 51% wants the money the 49% has so they hold a vote.
>"Should we take all money from the 49%?"
>49% says "No"
>51% says "Yes"
>51% has effectively stolen the money from the 49% through democracy

Historically, nominations were decided by a bunch of guys sitting around in smoke-filled rooms. All delegates were essentially superdelegates, and somebody would negotiate with everybody and then they'd just announce to the voters who the nominee was going to be.

After a while, things got opened up. Some states still just had party bosses decide who gets their delegates, but other states let the voters have some input, actually holding primaries and stuff.

In 1968, there were a bunch of people running for the Democratic nomination, traveling around campaigning, but when the time came to vote on the nominee, LBJ swung his dick around and they anointed Humphrey, his VP who hadn't competed in a single primary.

All the voters were pissed that not only did they get completely overruled, 80% of them had voted for anti-war candidates, which Humphrey totally wasn't. There were big protests at the convention, Wallace ran third party, and the Democrats lost the election to Nixon.

After that, they switched to a much more open party system, letting the voters have real input, but they baked in a shitload of superdelegates so they can swing the election in case the people vote wrong.

Reminder that Bernie needs at least 58.5% of the remaining pledged delegates to beat Hillary's pledged amount. There's no way in hell the superdelegates will jump ship if he doesn't even a pledged majority.

Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton are LEVEL 40 HYPER DELEGATES.

Hillary is leading cuck sanders by a greater PLEDGED delegate margin than Obama ever had over her in 2008.

That doesn't count the superdelegates, of course.
