Of course this is actually a quite serious topic.
First of all China is a country with 1.4 billion people and since it is slowly getting more and more capitalistic in the eastern regions it still needs to keep people in line otherwise it will be utter chaos. I think this system will in the beginning prevent people from crimes like killing or stealing cause they want to get stuff cheaper and look like a good citizen.
But the moment it becomes like your friends shouldn't hang out with you because you got a lower score it goes wrong. People will become paranoid of getting a low number and might do crazy things. Just imagine that if you go under 100 because of criticism against the communist government you can get send to jail and your friends+family needs to break contact otherwise they get into problems too.
I actually saw a very good mature anime about the exact same thing. Pretty sure even if you dislike anime you like the concept of how a world like that works. If you wanna know the name I will tell.
Hope more people watch it cause this stuff is also happening in the west not in a extreme way but with censoring anti-leftist agenda
