Why were the Nazis so damn good at advancing science? I know that they were German, but they were like Germans^2 in terms of this kind of shit.

Kick out the jews and suddenly you have an arms industry that wants to win a war instead of make $$$$. Its really simple to understand. Its even in Mein Kampf. Not even joking.

What >>71864401 said. They were also really into shock & awe with their weapons and tactics. To Hitler, bigger = better, even though they didn't have many resources left towards the end of the war. At least we got a bunch of cool stuff to look at
>>
>>71864401
Holy shit......
Is that the real reason?
>>
>>71864300
Government that pays huge money to industrial production and R&D - Krupp, Thyssen, IG Farben became industrial leaders and smaller companies were encouraged - even forced- to work with them as trusts. This and special financial schemes funneled huge resources to them allowed them to work like ^2 like normal Germans. Also strikes were banned, workers can't leave their jobs without employer authorization and work hours increased. On the plus side, companies can't fire workers as easy; so unemployment became less of an issue and social standards increased compared to 1920's.

lel cause Germans were autists. Instead of building practical military equipment that was durable and could be massed produced they instead had overly complicated designs with a ton of useless features that were slow to assemble and hard to maintain. While the Germans were lovingly hand crafting all their fancy luxury tanks the Russians were plopping out dozens of simple and practical T34s at the rate of 3 T34s for every Panzer.
Not to mention all the money and resources Hitler spent in the middle of the war of stupid "superweapons" that never saw action

It was going to be used on the Maginot line but because Belgium wasn't neutral (claiming neutrality but allowing British bombers to fly over unhindered) they were then fair game and the Germans didn't have to go through France's fortifications.

>>71864300
Germany wasn't that advanced compared to its opponents in WW2. The only thing that they really had going for them were industrial chemistry and rocketry, all other technologies were on-par with the Allies or worse.

They didn't have radar fuses for artillery shells for example

>The siege of Sevastopol was the gun's first combat test. Installation began in early May, and by 5 June the gun was ready to fire.[6] The following targets were engaged:

>5 June
>Coastal guns at a range of 25,000 m. Eight shells fired.
>Fort Stalin. Six shells fired.

>6 June
>Fort Molotov. Seven shells fired.
>"White Cliff" also known as "Ammunition Mountain": an undersea ammunition magazine in Severnaya ("Northern") Bay. The magazine was sited 30 metres under the sea with at least 10 metres of concrete protection. After nine shells were fired, the magazine was ruined and one of the boats in the bay sunk.[7]

>7 June
>Firing in support of an infantry attack on Südwestspitze, an outlying fortification. Seven shells fired.

>11 June
>Fort Siberia. Five shells fired.

>17 June
>Maxim Gorky Fortresses with its coastal battery. Five shells fired.

The Dora, deployed in Stalingrad, is the one that may never have been fired. All models, including the smaller Langer Gustav, were horribly inefficient though.

Basically a group of spiritualists and academics supposedly formed a group that contacted supposed extraterrestrial or interdimensional entities through seances and astral projection. The beings granted them hidden knowledge, specifically in the fields of nuclear energy and propulsion technology. They were effectively given blueprints that German scientists had to interpret.

The strategy after Kursk was to get the Western allies to side with Germany against the communists.

Hence the flashy and frightening weaponry.

Its more to say look we're hard to kill and you can have this too if you help us beat the commies.

Obviously the allies didn't end up fighting the commies and split up Germany with them instead.

Competition and practical experience

take italy for example:
>Just breda
>shit things

>>
>>71867040
>had vastly superior tanks

Most German tanks were average (Pz.Kpfw. IV) or plain shit (Pz.Kpfw. I-III), and for some stupid pants-on-head retarded reason they decided that the heaviest tank of these (Pz.Kpfw. IV) was to be put in the infantry support role, vastly negating its use. The Pz.Kpfw. V Panther was just an outright copy of the T-34/85, and the Pz.Kpfw. VI Tiger was just a mobile 88mm flak gun, which wasn't impressive in any other way as it broke down a lot and its armour was not sloped.

>invented missiles

False. Von Braun was not the first one to develop rockets.

>invented nuclear bomb

They never even got close to developing one. They just knew it could be done.

>invented submarines

Untrue. They are, along with the US in the Pacific War, the only nation to ever employ unrestricted submarine warfare however. Germany did it twice, in fact, in both WW1 and WW2. I believe the first underwater boats were used by the Confederates in the American Civil War.

>>71869616

Nazi Germany had awful education. The people who did indeed develop new technology had been educated in the German Empire or the Weimar Republic. A lot of them had also been abroad in other European countries for their education. The best field commanders, captains and military officers had all been highly educated, before the rise of Hitler. The Nazi education programme typically resulted in brainwashed morons with no manners, political entrenchment and poor education due to school indoctrination. If you read any sort of interrogation report by any of the involved parties of the war, you'll see that this was typical of the younger generations, particularly those who had been associated with the Hitler Youth organisation.

>>71864300

The Type XXI was an impressive u-boat, by all means, but it was not the only one. The Japanese developed a much similar u-boat independently at the time.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I-201-class_submarine

There are earlier examples of high-speed submerged u-boats too, but they were typically smaller and couldn't dive as deep.

What made Germany excel in the war was the introduction of new tactics, which could project more power with less or the same military strength as other nations had. They were typically highly aggressive tactics, in the beginning of the war, and you can tell that this quickly changed when the fronts stalled, with the introduction of more defensive weaponry like assault guns and tank destroyers.

>Germany wasted massive amounts of resources on retarded endeavors
Germany would have not have gotten steamrolled by the Soviets if they made a shitload of PzIVs with high velocity cannons but instead wasted massive resources on tanks that were expensive not that reliable and couldn't be effectively fielded in meaningful numbers.
Not to mention the various full retard pursuits they were trying to make a reality.
>>
>>71867275
>1vs1 nazi germany would shit on russia
>>>71867632 #
That's the thing retard
Germany wasting their valuable resources meant that not only theh couldn't do this on top of it it wasn't a 1v1 battle
>>
>>71872142
>Hitler ignored his military generals
>this is what happens
>>
>>71867275
lolno. The reason why Hitler got so far into Russia was because more than half of Russia's army was on the Far East front awaiting an attack from Japan. Also, it's 1942. Takes weeks if not months to get an army that size back to the Eastern front. Not to mention, Russia wasn't ready. If Russia was ready and I mean truly ready - going into the war without casualties they suffered in WW1 + Great Purge, 1v1 Germany would get stomped in a few weeks. Manpower always wins.

>>71864967
Nationalism goes a long way too. Also Germany wanted payback for WW1. I don't blame em. Plus following WW1, they didn't really suffer too many loses. They were never defeated in WW1 - they just surrendered. There's a difference. Most of the other nations (France, UK) had suffered a lot of casualties. They had their homes destroyed while Germany was pretty much scratchless.
>>
They were early adopters of experimental technology that was available to most of the world.

It hurt them as much as it benefited them. They wasted an insane amount of resources on dead-end projects that could have been spent on the war effort.
>>
>>71865176
The T-34 were actually pretty crappy, they lost many thousand of them.

Plus, the Germans were limited in fuel, they had to focus on quality over quantity simply because they had no enough oil to field tens of thousand of tanks.
>>
>>71872142
>they made a shitload of PzIVs with high velocity cannons

They did eventually, it just took them one and a half year to realise that the Pz.Kpfw. IV should be the MBT, not the Pz.Kpfw. III. You are absolutely right in what you say however, Nazi Germany is a horror story of inefficient waste of resources on retarded fucking projects. They had some good ideas sometimes, but typically the actual good ideas were prioritised far below the retarded "grand" ideas and arrived way too late in the war as a result.

>a system with a Supreme leader fails because the Supreme leader is a retard who thinks he knows best on everything.

>>71869057

Dude fucking google it or buy a book. Its fucking standard history 101. Why the fuck would hitler waste his last offensive on a gamble in the ardennes instead of pushing back the russians for what could be another year?

Why send units into italy after it switched sides?

Why V2 rockets and Jets?

Why did hitler write about an alliance with Britian in his book?

Why did he offer peace multiple times?

Patton even wanted to do it. This is not even close to controversial.
>>
>>71872492
>The T-34 were actually pretty crappy

The T-34 was just fine. It was reasonably easy to repair when broken, had more than enough availability of spare parts and had a big enough gun to penetrate most German armour, while also dealing better with poor conditions than German armour.

It wasn't a superb tank by any stretch of the imagination, but it was exactly what was needed. Nothing more, nothing less.

>>71872492
>>71872638

>>
>>71864300

Hitler's fetish for unnecessary tech lost him the war. He was in a position to win easily and he wasted all their money/resources building stupid shit that was way less effective and more expensive than other methods, but more advanced
>>
>>71872510
>Nazi Germany is a horror story of inefficient waste of resources on retarded fucking projects.
Which was my point against those other retards going "muh juice nazi Germany stronk cuz they had no juice in military development" which is just false.
>>
>>71872638
look this up : http://www.operationbarbarossa.net/the-t-34-in-wwii-the-legend-vs-the-performance/

The T-34 had poor crew ergonomy, no radio, bad optics, unreliable engine, a low-velocity gun. The only good thing was sloped armor and mobility.

Even with later upgrades, it was an inferior combat system than the PZ 4 or the Sherman, its counterparts.
