In reality, Texas is middle of the pack in terms of IQ and education in the United States. They're also not particularly religious according to most studies, I believe they rank in at the 35th most religious state. They are however massively superior economically compared to other states, with their GDP rivaling many European countries. They also have some of the best infrastructure in terms of roads and transportation, and they provide reasonable housing prices as well as a high standard of living. Personally, the people I know that think poorly of Texas have never been there and believe a lot of very stupid stereotypes.

I spent a year in Europe while in college. A nice place, met many people and still have some friends that I visit semi-anally. I loved it and still enjoy seeing the UK and the rest of the EU. Great people, food, etc. Attending university in Lancaster was rewarding....frankly an honor. I have nothing but respect for European culture and history.
I have a nice little hunting cabin in the woods on 10 acres that I paid cash for last year. Today, I played with one of my registered full auto M16s. I have a '67 GTO in my garage on a brand new lift. My daughter is privately schooled. I have 0 debt.
Frankly, my European friends live like serfs. I love them and it kills me to see them live the way they do. They spend all their money on living expenses and are always living paycheck to paycheck. Sure, we have people live like that in the US...but these guys are mechanical engineers and very good ones. They live in small flats and scurry about like rats in a race. Having an abundance is not in the cards for them, there simply is not enough room, freedom, competition and resources to pass around.
Imperial Europe was amazing and yes, was generally a parasite on the world. That said...they built the modern world. After 1945, the USA changed the world. The USA is just like imperial Europe was...nowadays we have to be a little less overt about or intentions. I mean come on now, look at our military bases and the fucking petro dollar.

I went to Earth Day Texas today, and I love this State. There were so many booths full of the latest innovations in agriculture and technology, almost all made in Texas. It was awe-inspiring, really.

there are actually some nice areas in Texas with forestation, non-violent people, even liberal bleeding hearts in some areas. I live in a town full of hispanics that are disgusted by blacks but if you're white or latino then you're fine. It's nice living among simpler people will simpler ideals as well. Anyone who mocks Texan infrastructure has either not lived there very long or has never lived in the northeast.
There are a lot of shit tier roads in Texas no doubt - it a fuckin big state.
However, when construction begins, you can be your fucking ass that that specific section of work will be done within a year or so. Meanwhile, the exact same stretch of I-22 or I-80 have been under construction for YEARS with no end in sight
I remember not having visited a local strip mall for about 6 months, and upon arriving I find that the mall had more than doubled in size with a brand new parking lot to boot - and the entire shopping center is no more than 15 minutes away.
