Each state has its own congress and own president in a way (Governors) and make laws for said state as long as they don't violate federal (USA) law.
You have states in legal battles over resources, garbage, power, anything. California is literally trying to steal our water in the Midwest because their piss poor public policy is putting them in a drought.
Also, don't you need a passport just to go from one to the other now? I remember just riding right over Niagara Falls and it was less of a hassle than a toll booth 15 years ago.

I wasn't born there, but everyone else in my family was. Every sane person in my family moved somewhere else. The ones left there are poor, thieves, and pumping out kids for welfare money. I'm originally from Lockport, which is another craphole but far, far better than Niagara Falls.
I actually live in downtown Buffalo now, and it's 100000000x better than anywhere in the Falls. The casino is the only redeeming thing in that entire cesspool.
